Your Latest Fragrance Purchase

Happened to stop in at a local TJMAXX last night just before it was closing (9:30pm in NJ) and just did a quick run through in the mens fragrance ile. Zip, nada. Decided to take a quick look I the women's section and this fragrance from Commodity caught my eye, Tea. For the price, snatched it right up along with 2 bottles of Thayers Lemon Astringent on clearance.

Got home, showered and couldn't resist giving it a quick spray or two. Did not expect what I got from it. Expecting something along the lines of Nishane's WuLong Cha or Hermes Voyage I got something deeper and more aromatic. Honey, Tobacco Leaf, Vetiver, Patchouli, some Basil, woods, tonka and musk. There is a touch of a floral component but, this is about a slightly sweetened vetiver and Tobacco with an earthy woods drydown that gives the impression of a smooth aromatic tea by the fireplace or a cool morning sip out on the front porch. Still get nice wafts of that Tobacco & Patch with a creamy musky vibe from where I put 2 sprays on my forearm last night.

Love it when something just totally knocks you back for the good. And for the $$$, can't lose.

Nice snag!

Perhaps if life had dealt me different monetary cards 😂

Do you have this one? What do you think?
I do have that one. I like it, glad I have it, but it isn’t a love, love - I think it is a nice, safe office scent (which served the purpose of why I bought it - ironic that I haven’t gone into the office since buying it)

But if it weren’t for it, I wouldn’t have explored Prada more- and I bought the Amber which I really like. So win win

Brian Buy Alert!

Hey I have plenty of designer frags!

I picked up Guilty Absolute last year and love it. And this seems like a fresh version with a similarly unique herbal/medicinal DNA.
Gucci with Alberto Morillas came out with a quadruplet of fragrances that frag heads considered to be a bold step forward from the usual Gucci formula.
Of course 3 of them were quickly discontinued, only frag heads seemed to like them.

Anyway, I’ve noticed that I really enjoy light, herbal, uniquely clean scents, and I think this will fit the brief, and be a relatively inexpensive easy reach for the gym etc. A lot of people say it smells like Nivea cream, so it can’t be very problematic to wear anywhere.
