Your Latest Fragrance Purchase

Last purchase for a little while, need to cool off an enjoy what I've got for a bit before the season changes.
Comme des Garçons - Marseille
With getting back to the gym and ballet classes, looking for some easy wears that aren't going to make people complain behind my back.
This is a terrific aldehydic soap scent. Longevity is meh, but it's one of the most sparkly soap scents I've tried and it's a joy to wear.

Alverez Gomez - Aqua de Colonia Concentrada
I ordered this a couple of months back, but just came today.
Old school lemon drop candy. Off the bottle there's a huge alcohol hit, which is why many of us use it as an aftershave. On skin it's lemon candy, and you guys know that means, insta love for me.

What's that weird bottle? It's legit Tom Ford BdJ though right?
I don't get Rive Gauche at all, but we all smell differently. The lavender and patchouli come out more for me, and I get the Zino connection more.
Yes, it’s a 50ml decant/split of the private version.

I’ve never smelled Zino, so it feels pretty dead ringer for Rive Gauche to me. Ford is the nose behind both afterall, so it makes sense. I do get more patchouli and the mint throws it for a little loop at the initial spray…it’s overall a tad darker and richer than Rive Gauche.

Oh the Private Blend, very nice!
There was a lot of contention at first if the Signature version was the same, but the consensus is there's something about the Private Blend that's superior, and it also has better longevity.

Old School & one of my Favorites.

Both are right up my alley! Thanks for the recommendation on the Caron!
Tell me about the Roadster Sport, pity the OG has been discontinued.

The Sport is one of my favorite Caron's, though I could see it not being for everyone.
If you like that, and want to try another from the house, Le 3'eme Homme (3rd Man) is one of my all time favorite fragrances, worth checking out as we move into the cooler seasons.

I’d say Roadster Sport is along the lines of Chanel Allure Homme Sport Cologne - but with a touch of Dior Eau Sauvage. There is a slight herbal note to it as well. The main complaints I have seen on YouTube is that it doesn’t have the mint note like the OG

While I think any Cologne can be Unisex - you like what you like- I do think there is value in describing things for people in what would be traditionally considered male or female leaning.

This is definitely a masculine leaning frag. While it is described as a woody aromatic- I believe that it has a Chypre quality about it.

Le 3'eme Homme has piqued my interest my friend!

Oh, that Roadster sounds right up my alley then. Lemon with a bit of chypre/herbal is always a favorite of mine.

Now speaking of lemon, Le 3’eme Homme has one of the best lemon openings I’ve ever smelled, just in case you wanted to know ;)

Gucci Guilty pour Homme EDP -
I've really enjoyed the Absolute, and Cologne from this line, and thought it would be nice to have something from it that might be as fresh as the cologne, but better suited for colder weather. This nails it for me, though I think it might not be everyone's cup of tea. It strays just far enough from the standard designer 21st century fougere format to make it interesting for me. It's loud, but not so loud that people walking in our stairwell will know I've been there 20 minutes later (yes, we have that guy in our building, and I'll never buy Sauvage thanks to him, I don't need to!) There's a dark green tinge to this one, and a bit of sour, which Gucci calls a vinegar note. In the end, it goes salty aquatic, but it's not the calone type aquatic, just salty, briny, which really works here for me.

Anyway, I found it at a great price, made even better by getting 10% more off to sign up for a newsletter, and pardon the pun but consider this a guilty pleasure in my collection.

By the way that matte black bottle is just bad ass!

I couldn’t hold out any longer. Plus, I was down to like a squirt on the Terre d’Hermes edt. Went with a 200ml. that was on sale at an online retailer. But, the one for me was the H24 Eau de Parfum. This has the classic and clean vibe from yesteryear with an infusion from the Oakmoss. A modern made throwback. It’s the real deal gents.

H24 EdP is up there on my wish list, trying to drop some strong Father's Day vibes. (Father's Day here is in the Autumn, and generally when the weather is at it worst.)

Do you rate the Edp over the EdT?

And while I've got your attention, another that I've had my eye on thanks to you is Costume National Homme, iirc you've got the Parfum, have you tried the EdP? The clove and thyme in it have my interest peaked, but both sound really good.

Anyone try this one. Been thinking of getting this one.

I have it. Great "true" bay rum scent. No clove that I can detect. Reminds me of the old Dominica Bay Rum but stronger scent and longer-lasting.
