Le Galion - Eau Folle
Have massively cut back on purchases, but couldn't say no to Le Galion's new masculine powerhouse herbal freshie. And glad I didn't I'm really starting to like these more (to my nose) brash masculines, and this pretty much is as close to what I've been looking for forever as I think I'm going to get.
There's a wormwood note that makes this more of a green scent, but something I think a fan of things like, dare I say Sauvage would like.

Need some words on this one Mark.
Love it! Nice, bright opening of green citrus that morphs into an herbaceous lavender/slightly bitter floral notes (the tarragon is fairly strong but not overpowering). Don't think oakmoss is listed in the scent notes but to me it's there. Wonderful drydown with the vetiver and patchouli. The scent pyramid lists clove in the base but I don't detect any (may just be my post-COVID altered sense of smell). Love the vetiver in this. Vetiver and I have had rocky history but I really like this.

Oh man that sounds great, you can't have too much tarragon for me, it's a favorite note. Clove and carnation are actually often the same aroma chemical so sometimes clove can actually be a bit floral depending on the formulation. So maybe your nose isn't playing tricks. TBH I don't put a lot of stock in note pyramids anyway, they don't really have any relation to what's actually in the formula much of the time.

Came in yesterday and they are simply spectacular. The Bond is in play today (think a slightly modernized version of Chanel Egoiste with a pronounced herbal & Basil accord accompanied by a nice citrus pineapple touch.) and it is simply magnificent. Signature scent worthy and so far, its got some legs 5 hours in and still very pronounced and pushing off of the skin. The Roja was just a quick spritz last night but, that one is going to be a stellar warm weather beauty.

Mail call over the weekend. Been chasing 2 fragrances that have eluded me for some time. Found them both on a reputable fragrance discounters site and jumped at the opportunity (Roja Dove Vetiver Pour Homme & Creed Royal Water). The other three are superb as well and all 5 of them just bolstered my summer wear rotation for both work & play. Not a loser in any of them.

Someone on our local BST group had some BDK samples, and I've been curious about these, since I thought Gris Charnel was so good. They were indeed great for what they are, Citrus Riviera is a very nice citrus / neroli, and Sea d'Argent is a really excellent marine scent. As fate would have they were both on sale at my favorite grey market dealer, so here we are, now where's the warm weather?
