No such thing as stripping too much to my knowledge...well provided one is doing it correctly! :p

You can skip the rough out side of the leather and just use the smooth side. Also use some Neatsfoot oil, mink oil or Lexol to keep the leather from drying out. I use Neatsfoot oil. Whatever you use, use it sparingly.

Another drama free shave tonight. First time using a Kai blade and it made the Tech feel quite nice. Zingari Man performed great as usual.

I was telling my wife I was going to buzz my hair and she asked if she could try cutting it first. I figured if it went south I would carry on with the original plan. She watched a YouTube video and then went at it and I’ve got to say she did really good job.

Just getting caught up; good stuff. I've been seeing Zingari Man quite a bit. I'll be checking it out when I next purchase soap.

Great Shave! And Brave Man for letting the wife take a shot at the hair! Kudos to her for doing such a good job!

Little bit of blood tonight. I tapped the blade against my face just under my nose on the second pass. Nothing too bad, but it was a good reminder to be completely present during the shave. Lisa’s soap and balm are awesome, my face feels great and the scent is right up my alley. I cut down to 40ish laps on just the smooth side before the shave and 25ish between passes. I’ll keep dialing it in as time goes on. I’m thinking of picking up another razor, probably Genco. I got to make my deepest dive in Seneca Lake a few year back with some awesome people and it seems fitting. Anyone have suggestions on what model razor to look for?

Definitely always have to be present during a straight shave. It's a good exercise in concentration. Nice Shave!

^^^ this.

Pretty much any Genco is likely to be good. I've owned a few of them over the years and every one has been a great shaver. They are also usually among the more reasonably priced straight razors.
