Dude that looks great. But now that it’s up I’m wondering how you trim the grass under the low parts...

I am always amazed at those guys that tackle play-sets like that. I myself am not as handy as I would like to be and those things just seemed extremely daunting! Kudos to you for tackling that project. And yeah...there is always something more that needs to be done than what they tell you!

Great shave set up too!

My wife asked me about cutting the grass under it, then this morning she found me a few options for electric trimmers and edgers. Any excuse for new tools is a plus in my book!!

With me “working from home” I just keep telling myself (and my boss/neighbor) that I am keeping my Seabee skills tuned. Now I need an excuse to go diving to keep that half from getting rusty. :ROFLMAO:
Most of the extra work was self imposed, replacing and upgrading some of the wood and hardware. It was pretty simple from an assembling standpoint. I’m sure you’ll surprise yourself with your handy man skills as you little one starts getting older.

Skipped last night’s shave due to falling asleep on the couch. Had a late morning shave that was fantastic. I brought out the Yates with the H plate and was BBS in 2 passes with one small touch up. This razor is surprisingly efficient for how smooth it is. I finished up with Stirling Hipster AS and didn’t get any burn. A grail shave for sure. My wife can’t stand the scent of the Patchouli Blend soap but liked the Hipster Splash scent once it started to dry down. Can’t win them all I guess. The TSC 2nd Anniversary Brush seems to be loosening up a bit. It took noticeably less force to splay this morning.

Today I found the straight razor shaving videos by @BarberDave . Watched the first installment I plan on following along as closely as I can. My strop should be here tomorrow so I grabbed my 1 pair of jeans I have and got to stropping. I did 50 laps and somehow didn’t cut my pants to shreds. Off to a good start. I lathered up some CBL Master Barber and did the first pass with the Lupo loaded with a Sputnik. The second and third pass with the straight with only 2 little weepers. Did a fourth pass to clean it up with the Lupo and had quite the nice shave. Finished up the shave with a hefty splash of Proraso Green followed up with some Zingari Man Unscented Balm. I felt a bit less awkward wielding the razor this go around and am excited to get at it again tomorrow.

Congratulations on starting your SR journey! No major injuries counts as a win! Stick with it!
