Tonight’s have was a bit spicier than using the M-Jectah. Took my time with the straight and it paid off. Beautiful shave tonight. Ken’s shogun edge is super sharp while being incredibly smooth. I added quite a bit of water to get the lather thinner and there was slickness for days. It seems I’ve drifted to bowl lathering lately without really noticing. Anyway, ended up BBS except for the two trouble spots on my neck, didn’t want to test my luck.

Helloooo Cadre. Things around here have been busier than ever but will slow down over the next 2 weeks until it gets cranked up to 11 until the end of January. This transition in my career has been interesting and insightful while being a real pain in the ass... but in a good way. The shaves have been mostly utility, mostly with Maggard’s Limes and Bergamot, a synthetic RR brush, Skin Bracer and my DLC Lupo. Some have even been just a splash of water and the Lupo when in a real time crunch. But tonight I got to try out the OREN. I really didn’t know what to expect with review being all over the map but I gotta say I absolutely LOVE this thing even after just one use. @NurseDave ... you are totally right with this razor. I ended up BBS without really trying and not even a hint of sting from the after shave. I still have to try the 1 & 3 dot plates, but the 2 dot was magical. The Ethos soap did its thing, as well as the splash. Just a damn good shave. Also a dram of Buffalo Trace is amazing after a long day driving stakes with a sledge. Just sayin.

Those Orens do look pretty cool. Love the simplicity of the design.
How is the handle? Comfortable? Slippery? I like the looks, but wonder about the ergonomics.
I find the handle comfortable to hold and haven’t had an issue with it getting too slippery. It just took a few strokes to get used to the handle.

I went into this shave expecting horrible lather from all the things I’ve read about the modern version of Williams. Instead I had some really nice super duper slick lather. It started off all foamy but I kept throwing water at it and it was well worth the effort. I like it a lot. Had to finish this one off with some Aqua Velva. The OREN continues to impress me. It doesn’t give the same longevity as the Vector, but it delivers a mindless BBS without even a hint of irritation for me.
Christmas was nice and low key this year. Got a few small things from my wife, she keeps saying socks are just a utility gift even though I keep telling her it’s always one of my favorite things to get.
We ended up switching from T-Mobile back to Verizon and having decent service at the house is the best gift of all. We’ve had quite a few power outages over the last 2 months and without the wifis we couldn’t make calls. T-Mobile was great for me when I was hopping around the Pacific, but stateside it’s been trash for the most part. Anyway, I think we over compensated for the crap year when getting gifts for our daughter, and so did our families. Holy crap, I don’t know what we’re gunna do with all this stuff. I wonder if she’ll notice if we get rid a some of the older stuff...

Sounds like a good shave and a very nice Christmas! I’ve seen the Oren popping up here and there. Might have to look into them a little more. Sounds like a decent shaver.
We had the same issue with T-Mobile. The final straw was trying to use an E-ticket to enter Opening Day for the Phillies and not having any service...in South Philly. How do you not get service in one of the biggest cities in the country?!?

I had to learn to download everything at least semi-important onto my phone just in case and I could only remember to do that about 50% of the time.
I miss the days when a couple of my friends were going to school a little north of Philly. I’d drive down there from Scranton all the time, then we’d take the SEPTA into the city and had a grand ole time. My father would always have me stop at Claudio’s to get a couple pounds of imported extra sharp provolone and some bread from next door. Lots of good memories there.
