Out of the three that I have tried of the Nuavia soaps...Blu, Rosa, and Verde...Rosa is by far my favorite of the scents. It is some seriously good stuff!

I used my Zingari Man The Wanderer soap the last couple shave in an effort to finish it off, but after using some GTB splash last night it made me want to break the Nera back out. Although Nera and GTB aren’t very close to the same scent, they really seem to compliment each other. At least to my broken scene of smell anyway. This was my fourth use of Nuavia and the lather tonight came together very well and was incredibly slick. Three passes with the straight and a little bit of clean up with the DE has me BBS everywhere except a tiny spot near my Adam’s apple.

I’m falling behind on my journal, so it’s time to catch up. I’m up to 40 straight shaves and still following along with @BarberDave ‘s tutorial. It has become a very enjoyable experience. I have a much better strop on the way and am hoping I’ll be able to keep my razors in better shape. I’ve decided to hold off on learning to hone for a while and concentrate on every day razor maintenance.
Work is still crazy, but everything should slow back down again by the end of the week. It’s just been one of those times where everything is on fire all the time. It’ll be nice to not be super stressed out all day every day for a change.
Also, I can’t stop putting Florida Water on, it smell spicy and lemony and I love it.

Just put the wet stuff on the red stuff! Hopefully things clear up sooner than later. I hope your shaves have been a bit of an escape, in addition to family time.
I'm sure I won't be the only one, but I recommend that you decant the Florida Water into a glass bottle if you haven't already. I'm not sure if you have because I can't read good or remember well. You'd be amazed at what plastic does to the scent.

The shave have definitely been a refuge for me. Kinda zen like.
While I have read about decanting into glass from a plastic bottle it still didn’t click in my head until you said that. I’m pretty sure I have an almost empty hot sauce bottle I can clean out if I get a breakfast burrito tomorrow morning.

I just wish they sold it in a big barber sized bottle like Proraso does.Look at you mixing GTB with other soaps. You're right. That should be an every day staple

Nice update! I have decided to do straight razor shaves only this week as I have been lacking in giving those razors attention.
Thanks Pat! If I were a morning shaver I doubt I would be giving the straight this much attention. While my shaves are getting closer, it takes me a while to get there.

By far the closest shave I’ve gotten with a straight. Still a bit of cleanup with the DE but not too much. The Stirling Barbershop Splash is a bit too powdery for my liking, by no means a bad scent, just not firmly in my wheel house.

Nice Shave! Most barbershop scents are WAY too powdery for me.
As time and shaves go by. You’ll notice that your pace will be quicker. Building muscle memory and face mapping are what you are after. At least that’s how it happened for me. In the early days with straights. I had to re apply my soap as it would dry out.
