I have a Hydro and still put his in my watch because it is in amazing shape and a GREAT price. GO GET IT and save my marriage PLEASE
There is a VERY good chance that will happen this evening, depending on how weak I become after this hair cut. I’m currently surrounded by all things Stirling, Panna Crema, Chiseled Face, Nobel Otter, Fine Accoutrements, Dovo, Merkur, and way too many other thing that make we want to E4A0197E-840F-415A-BBD0-8E43A158BA16.gif

Yep........ I’m doomed.

Panna Crema Nuavia Nera

Great shave tonight. First use of a Panna Crema Nuavia soap and it is definitely some good stuff! I wanted to smell the Nuavia soaps after my hair cut but they were closing up the first floor where all the goods were at so I did what any sane person would do and just bought 1 of each flavor that was in stock.🤪 The good news is I got what I originally wanted, a bottle of GTB aftershave. Oh,and a pretty great hair cut too.

When I first sniffed Nera, pretty much as soon as I got into my truck, It got what I thought was an aquatic kind of scent, but now I’m not sure. It is reminiscentish of Hipster, kinda, but much more delicate? There are a tonne of scent notes listed for this one:

Top notes: fresh and green
  • Sea note
  • Mandarin
  • Bergamot
  • Black pepper
  • Lavender
  • Cardamom
Middle notes: flowery
  • Cinnamon
  • Artemisia
  • Sandalwood
  • Jasmine
  • Patchouli
Bottom notes: amber and musky
  • Tonka bean
  • Vanilla
  • Amber
  • White musk
Whole lotta stuff going on there. It’s got a bit of a cologne vibe going on but it’s nice and fresh.

The soap base is awesome. Super slick and dense and doesn’t take much soap to made a ton of lather. If feels really good on the skin for the whole shave. I skipped using and after shave product and instead rubbed some the the excess lather on my face while I cleaned everything up. It’s about to hours since I finished the shave and my face feels silky smooth with no tightness. I really wanna splash some GTB on my face, but It’ll have to wait until the matching soap shows up.

I like the scent and it is a welcome addition to the den. I don’t think it’ll be my favorite of the Nuavia scents but it will definitely be in the rotation of soaps I reach for randomly depending on my mood.

Note: I purchased this soap with my own money (please don’t tell my wife) and no one in their right mind would compensate anyone for this kind of rambling pseudo-review.

Another Note: Going to try the Verde and Rossa as well this weekend and I apologize in advance for the horrible scent descriptions to come.

Great review! I don’t see Nera mentioned as much as Blu and Rossa, but it did look good on the site!

I'm not a huge aquatic guy so you already helped me narrow down to blu or verde for my next purchase. Nice review.
Thanks Dave! The Blu seems to be loved at least as much as the Rossa around the internets. I was hoping there was a jar of it hiding somewhere in the shop yesterday.

I'm with Dave on this scent. I'm not big on aquatic scents. Sounds like a real winner for you, though. Your secret is safe with us.
I feel like it’s a scent that I will come to like more and more as I use it. I really appreciate the discretion. 😉

Nuavia Verde

Forgot to list the pictures razor in last night’s shave and so I don’t forget it was SRS 36. I was pretty swept up in the recent soap acquisition.

Tonight the Lupo delivered quite nicely. I swapped out the Wizamet for a Gillette Ruby and it’s quite nice. I think the Wizamet got knocked around when I brought my razor to work the other day.

The Nuavia Verde is an absolute fantastic scent. Very light and clean and bright. Maybe almost a juicy? scent, but not in a sweet way? I dunno. I really like.
Scent notes:
Top notes: fresh and aromatic
  • Grapefruit
  • Bay Leaves
  • Rose
Middle notes: woody
  • Cedarwood
  • Vetyver
  • Precious Wood

Bottom notes: amber
  • Amber
  • White Musk
  • Goldmoss

I don’t pick up any of the Rose, which is great for me because I don’t like rose. I almost didn’t get this one because of that but after using it this evening I’m happy I did.
I scooped out about half as much as I did from last night’s go with the Nera and I still had so much lather I had to hybrid face/bowl lather again. A little goes a loooong way. I skipped using an after shave again and just like last night my face is soft and silky smooth. The performance is great and it made the cost of this stuff easily justifiable to myself.
The glass jar is nice as is the price drop from the crock packaging. The new jars have 5.4 oz compared to the crock which I wanna say was 7 oz? But the price per ounce of soap has remained just about the same. The only down side is that there is no way I will travel with the glass jar. I will use that as an excuse to get some SV along with the fact that SV is triple milled and would reduce the size of my mobile shave den when I gotta leave for 6-8 months for work.
I can’t see myself skipping an aftershave very often as it’s just so satisfying at the end of the shave, but in a pinch with the Nuavia, at least for me, I would have no issues. If someone reading this knows of an aftershave that smells like Verde I would really like to know!

Once I get my hands on some sample containers, I’ll be filling them up to go along with the sample pass around box for those who are more rational than I am and don’t want to blind buy the Nuavia line.

Have a good night, Cadre!

From what I remember the Nuavia soaps were definitely great performers. Super nice and sophisticated scents. I am normally not one for veggie soaps...but Nuavia soaps really give tallow soaps a run for their money. One of the only soaps that I felt I didn't have to put an aftershave on!

Glad you’re enjoying the new buys! Are you pretty limited in space when you have to head out? Or is it more just the hassle of figuring out how to pack stuff?

It’s the constant packing and unpacking and hitting anywhere between 4-9 locations in that time. Lots of flights and the occasional boat transit. I try to pack as light as possible while have some comforts along for the ride.

I wasn’t a big fan of veggie soaps until I tried Southern Witchcrafts. That soap blew me away performance wise. It was one of the things that pushed me over the edge to get the Nuavia Soaps.

Another great shave tonight. Rossa is a great scent. It has a very slight sweetness to it that compliments its warmth and creaminess. Scent note:

Top notes: woody
  • Tobacco
  • Patchouli
  • Cedarwood

Middle notes: woody, oriental
  • Oud (Agarwood)
  • Sandalwood

Bottom notes: amber
  • Amber
  • Musk
I smeared half as much As last night in the bottom of the bowl to load the brush and it was the perfect amount. I only needed half an almond size scoop and there was plenty of lather for 3 passes and post shave lather while I cleaned up.
The Nuavia soaps are a very welcome addition to my den. Great slickness, very nice scents and leaves my face feeling great.
