Straight Razor Shave #270

Razor: Klas Tornblom Eskilstuna
Brush: AP Shaving Co. 24MM SynBad w/ Elegant Emerald Handle
Soap: Oz Shaving Co. Winter
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Dickson's
After Shave: Oz Shaving Co. Winter Post-Shave Tonic

For the 1st day of Spring shave I selected the Winter scent from Oz Shaving Co. From Oz's website:
sweet amber and vanilla, combined with ginger, orange, cinnamon, and nutmeg, topped with peppermint.
I don't get a lot of peppermint, but this is a very good scent, perfect for today's shave! I like this scent. Typical Oz performance!

1st use of the AP Shaving Co. SynBad brush. This knot performed great! It had a slight chemical smell out of the box. A wash and 30 minute soak took care of that. Nice face feel, great backbone, great flow through. A very nice knot! The handle shape feels very good in my hand.

3 passes and some clean up with the Klas. No nicks or weepers, but noticeable alum sting which was not expected. Still a great BBS shave!

Finished with the matching tonic.

Razor: Rockwell 6S (R4 plate)
Blade: Feather
Brush: Whipped Dog 24mm Synthetic
Soap: William Mug Shaving Soap Beechman
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Dickson's
After Shave: Myrsol F/Extra After Shave
Cologne: Giorgio Armani Acqua Di Gio Pour Homme EdT

Went with some vintage Williams today. Beechman formula of Williams. The Whipped Dog brush whipped up an excellent lather in not time using the SV method.

3 passes and some clean up with the Rockwell. No nicks, weepers, and just a tad bit of alum sting on a stubborn area on the lower left neck. A great BBS+ shave.

Finished with the Myrsol and some sprtizes of the Acqua Di Gio Edt. A very nice pairing.

Brush: The Shaving Cadre Brush Eric Sorrentino Barzini with 25MM Quartermoon synthetic knot
Soap: Derby Shave Stick

Decided to use a shaving stick for today's shave. Derby was selected. This stick performs great for me. Super lather!

3 passes and some clean up with the Twinworks. No nicks or weepers and just a little alum sting on the neck. A great BBS shave!

Finished with the Polar Ice and actually forgot to put on any cologne.

Straight Razor Shave #272

Razor: Allegany Instrument Corp. WP
Brush: Stirling Soap Co. Finest Badger Shave Brush - 26mm
Soap: Via Barberia by Pennellificio Omega Aquae
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Dickson's
After Shave: Via Barberia by Pennellificio Omega Aquae After Shave Serum
Cologne: Tommy Bahama St. Barts Cologne

Ran across this soap while going through the shave den and realized it had been a while since it was used. Aquae is best described as a fresh aquatic scent with some bergamot and critus notes. Performance is great. Easy to load and lather using the SV method. Great slickness, glide/cushion, and residual slickness. However for some reason today I wasn't able to get the residual slickness to were it has been in the past.

3 passes and a little clean up with the AIC and I'm nick, weeper, and alum sting free. A great BBS shave!

Finished up with the matching serum. This is some great after shave. Leaves my face feeling great! A few vasilis of the St. Barts and I'm good to go!

Razor: Gillette Fatboy F2 (Set on 6)
Blade: Feather
Brush: Parker Silver Tip Badger Faux Horn Handle
Cream: Proraso Single Blade Shaving Cream Azur Lime
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Humphreys Witch Hazel
After Shave: Proraso Azur Lime After Shave Balm

This cream and balm has been staring at me for a while now, wondering when I was going to use it again, so I was in a "limey" mood this morning so they were selected. If you like the regular Proraso line and you haven't used one of the Single Blade lines yet, you are doing yourself a big disfavor! Typically great Proraso perfomance with the added niceness of lime along with some musk, juniper, patchouli, and moss notes. A very nice scent!

3 passes and just a little clean up with the Fatboy produced a great BBS+ shave with no nicks, weepers, or alum sting.

Finished with the matching balm. Good Stuff!

Straight Razor Shave #273

Razor: Buck Salient #138 of 250
Brush: Wolf Whiskers Bishop "Party on Bourbon Street" with Elite Razor 28mm Manchurian White Knot
Soap: Wet Shaving Products Formula T Olympus
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Dickson's
After Shave: Wet Shaving Products Olympus Aftershave Tonic Splash
Cologne: Wet Shaving Products Olympus EdP

WSP's products are top notch performers in my book! The Formula T soap rocks! Olympus is Lee's take on Creed's Aventus. A very nice rendition. Performance is excellent! The Wolf Whisker brush whipped up an excellent lather in not time. Love this scent!

3 passes and a little clean up on the neck and chin produced a BBS shave with no nicks or weepers. Alum sting was more than expected, but not a "Home Alone" moment.

Finished up with the matching splash and EdP a great end to a great shave!

Razor: Gillette Z2 Super Adjustable (Set on 6)
Blade: Feather
Brush: The Shaving Cadre 1st Anniversary Sorrentino Limited Edition Brush Shockwood with 24mm Timberwolf Synthetic Knot
Soap: CBL Premium Shave Soap The Shaving Cadre
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Humphreys Witch Hazel
After Shave: Paladin Shaving Aftershave Balm
Cologne: Penhaligon's Sartorial EdT

Today's shave was all about The Shaving Cadre (www.theshavingcadre.com). This brush celebrates the 1st Anniversary of that forum of which I am proud to be a Legacy member of. One of the other Legacy members makes brushes and he agreed to make an unique brush to celebrate the anniversary. The knot on this brush is a Timberwolf synthetic. It performed perfectly! A very nice synthetic knot. Nice face feel, good backbone, and releases lather well. The shape of the brush handle fits my hand great, very comfortable!

In my mind there was no other choice for today's shave soap but CBL's The Shaving Cadre. As per the norm Chris' soaps are performed excellently! Great slickness, glide/cushion, residual slickness and easy to load and lather. This scent is Neroli, Lime, and Vetiver. Strength of scent is a 2 of 5 in the tub and a 3 of 5 lathered. I love this scent!

Grabbed the Fatboy and 3 passes later I'm BBS+ with no nicks, weepers, or alum sting. A great shave!

Finished up with some of the Paladin Balm with a spritz of the Sartorial emulsified into it. A few vasiis of the Sartorial on the pulse points and I'm smooth faced and smelling great!

Nice TSC shave today Craig! Man your brush got a good portion of that beautifully knotted wood! Love it!

Oh Craig I was behind great catching up. I really like the look of that Synthetic from the past few shaves. Where did you get that?
