Straight Razor Shave #281

Razor: Allegany Instrument Corp. WP
Brush: RazoRock Plissoft Disruptor Synthetic
Soap: Tabac
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Humphreys Witch Hazel
After Shave: Dove Men+Care Hydrate+ Post Shave Balm
Cologne: Giorgio Armani Acqua Di Gio Pour Homme EdT

2 years and 280 Straight Razor Shaves ago I started this leg of my wet shaving adventure. Yes it's my 2nd Anniversary of my 1st Straight Razor Shave. Today's shave is to commemorate that shave, so I'm using the exact same software and equipment that I used for that shave. Only difference is I'll be doing a full shave versus just a WTG pass with the straight.

Tabac was chosen then because it is an excellent performing soap! Top notch lather! Some don't care for the scent, but I kinda like it. Whipped up a typically great Tabac lather and proceeded with the shave.

The AIC wasn't 100% up to the task however it seems. I need to take it back to the Trans Ark at least. Not as sharp as I like and just a little tuggy. I was still able to get a BBS- shave with no nicks or weepers and some alum sting.

The Dove Men+ Balm tamed down the protential razor burn pretty well. I finished with a few vasilis of the Acqua Di Gio. So all in all a good successful shave!

Straight Razor Shave #282

Razor: Clyde72 Twinworks 50¾
Brush: Wolf Whiskers Bishop "Party on Bourbon Street" with Elite Razor 28mm Manchurian White Knot
Soap: Chamber Shave Company Derby
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Humphreys Witch Hazel
After Shave: Clubman Reserve Whiskey Wood After Shave
Cologne: Cremo Bourbon and Oak EdT

Chamber Shave Company's Derby was selected for today's shave. So I decided to go with a "bourbon" themed shave. The scent of this croap is bourbon and a hint of mint. Strength of scent is a good 2 of 5 and 3 of 5 lathered. I like this scent! I selected the Wolf Whisker's "Party on Bourbon Street" brush and whipped up a lather. Performance is top notch! Great slickness, glide/cushion, residual slickness, and stability!

The Clyde72 Twinworks 50¾ is scales are red oak, you age bourbon in oak barrels, so the theme continues. 3 passes with the Twinworks and I'm BBS. No nicks or weepers, just a little alum sting. A great shave.

Finished up with what else??? Clubman Reserve Whiskey Wood after shave and a few spritzes of Cremo's Bourbon and Oak EdT, completing the theme and the shave. Perfect ending to this shave!

Straight Razor Shave #283

Razor: Hess 44
Brush: The Shaving Cadre Legacy Brush Eric Sorrentino Barzini with 25MM Quartermoon synthetic knot
Soap: RazoRock Blue Fougere
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Humphreys Witch Hazel
After Shave: RazoRock Blue Fougere After Shaving Splash
Cologne: Penhaligon's English Fern EdT

Blue Fougere was selected for today's shave. What a nice twist on fougere. The scent is intoxicating! The best way I can describe this scent is a "Blue" fougere. Very nice fougere with a clean slightly powdery scent. Strength of scent is 2 of 5 and a 3.5 of 5 lathered. Typically great RazoRock performance. The Legacy brush whipped up a lather with ease.

3 passes with the Hess. With the exception of a weeper and some mild alum sting this was a great shave. BBS+

Finished with a good splash of the matching splash and then a few vasilis of the English Fern. A very nice pairing.

Straight Razor Shave #284

Razor: Buck Salient #138 of 250
Brush: Yaqi Dandelion Green Cashmere Synthetic 24mm
Soap: Martin de Candre Fougere
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Humphreys Witch Hazel
After Shave: Master Well Comb Focus After Shave Lotion
Cologne: Guerlain Homme L'Eau Boisee EdT

I was still in a Fougere mood today so Martin de Candre Fougere was selected. If you like fougeres you should have this soap in your den! Excellent soap. Great fougere scent! Strength of scent is a 2.5 of 5 in the jar and a 3.5 lathered. The Yaqi brush had no problem making a lather. Excellent performance!

3 passes with the Buck. No nicks or weepers, but some noticable alum sting that was not expected! Still a great BBS+ shave.

Finished with the Focus after shave and some vasilis of the L'Eau Boisse. A great pairing! Nice finish for a "green" shave.

Very Nice Craig! I had a whole lot of catching up to do...but man it was some good stuff! Thanks for the reviews on the Chamber Soaps! I too am interested in the Daddy-O scent!

You had you some great shaves there Craig!
Thanks Rich!
Great Shaves Craig. I guess the Derby was shooting for a Mint Julep vibe and hit it.
Thanks Dave! I believe that is what they were going for.

Razor: Gillette Slim Adjustable I-2 (set on 6)
Blade: Feather
Brush: RazoRock BC Silvertip Plissoft Synthetic
Soap: Barrister & Mann 42 Shaving Soap
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Dickson's
After Shave: Barrister & Mann 42 Aftershave
Cologne: Barrister & Mann 42 EdT

I was super lazy this week and didn't shave till today, so 4 days of growth to take care of.

This soap was just begging to be used today for some reason. I love the scent of 42! Whipped up an excellent lather with the BC and proceeded with the shave.

The Slim and feather blade knocked down the 4 days of growth and resulted in an excellent BBS+ shave with no nicks, weepers, or alum sting.

Finished with the matching aftershave and EdT and I'm all Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster fresh! ;)

Straight Razor Shave #285

Razor: Klas Tornblom Eskilstuna
Brush: The Shaving Cadre 1st Anniversary Sorrentino Limited Edition Brush Shockwood with 24mm Timberwolf Synthetic Knot
Soap: Mystic Waters Coconut Lime Verbena
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Humphreys Witch Hazel
After Shave 1: Cremo Skin Clearing After Shave Balm
After Shave 2: Pinaud Clubman Citrus Musk EdC
Cologne: Stirling Soap Company Satsuma EdT

I was in a citrus/lime mood today and it had been a while since I had used the Mystic Water Coconut Lime Verbena so it was selected for today's soap. This is the old forumla I believe and can be a little finiky and that was the case today. After a little coaxing I was able to get a good lather with the Anniversary brush. I really need to get some of the new formula soap, actually I believe I do have a sample now that I think about it. I'll have to put that on the mental use soon list.

The Klas did it job and produced a nice BBS shave in 3 passes with some clean up. One slight weeper and some noticable alum sting. Overall a good shave.

Finished with a splash of the Citrus Musk emulsified with the Cremo Balm. Then followed with the Stirling Satsuma. A very nice pairing. Love the scent of the Satsuma. A set of that will be going on the next Stirling order!

Straight Razor Shave #286

Razor: Curtin & Clark Cutlery Co. Our Princess
Brush: Simpson Duke 3 in Pure Badger
Soap: CBL Premium Shave Soap Ghost Lime
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Humphreys Witch Hazel
After Shave: Booster Barber Shop Classic Iced Lime Aftershave Lotion
Cologne: Sung Homme by Alfred Sung EdT

Still feeling a lime/citrus kind of mood today scent wise. I selected the CBL Ghost Lime. This soap has a cooling agent that sneaks up on you. Gradually building as you apply the lather to your face. A very nice experience! The scent is kind of a Lime Jello fragrance. I like it. Strength of scent is a 2 of 5 in the tub and a 3 of 5 lathered. Using the SV method I had no problem whipping up an excellent lather as expected. CBL soaps are excellent performers.
3 passes and some touch up with the Princess produces one weeper and just a little alum sting on the lower neck, which for some reason was being extra stubborn today.

Finished with the Iced Lime and then some spritzes of the Sung. A good paring IHMO!

Straight Razor Shave #287

Razor: Geo H. Weyer Vulcan Steel
Brush: Paladin Chief 26mm Brair
Soap: Chiseled Face Sherlock
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Humphreys Witch Hazel
After Shave: Chiseled Face Sherlock Aftershave
Cologne: Davidoff Hot Water EdT

Do you know the problem with having approximately 200 soaps/creams/samples (Last official count was 177 and that was a long time ago) to choose from is? Just deciding what soap to use next and not skipping some really great scents and performers!

Sherlock was selected today. I really like the scent of this soap. I can just picture Sherlock in his library buried in a book with enjoying a bowl of his favorite tobacco. The Paladin had no problem whipping up a great lather. Typical Chiseled Face performance as expected!

3 passes and some clean up with the Vulcan produced a nice BBS shave. Just a little alum sting. One slight weeper on the chin. Still a great shave!

Finished with a splash of the matching aftershave and then a few spritzes of the Hot Water. A very nice pairing.

R4L is a Limited Edition Scent. It's a very nice scent, I like it! The Yaqi brush whipped up a great lather, typical great Stirling performance. I like this Yaqi brush. It's on par with any of my synthetics.

3 passes and some clean up with the Wacker and I'm BBS. No nicks or weepers, some alum sting on a stubborn patch on the chin. A great shave!

Finished with the matching aftershave and then some spritzes of The One. A great pairing!

I was in a Fougere mood today so Felce Aromatica was selected. What a great fougere! I love this scent. Whipped up an excellent lather with the SV brush. Typically great SV performance.

3 passe and a little clean up and I'm BBS+. No nick, weepers, and just barely noticeable alum sting. A most excellent shave!

Finished with the matching after shave and then a few vasilis of the English Fern. Heck Yeah excellent pairing!

Soap: Le Pere Lucien Oud-Santal
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Humphreys Witch Hazel

What a great soap! The performance and scent is top notch. A great sandalwood and oud scent! No problem whipping up a great lather with the Envy brush.

3 passes and some clean up with the Buck and I'm BBS+. I got a little heavy handed on the neck, due to some stubborn whiskers so some alum sting. Still a nice BBS+ shave. No nicks or weepers, so a good shave.

Finished with the matching after shave and then some vasilis of the Endymoin. Yes! Great pairing!

Soap: RazoRock What The Puck Blue Barbershop
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Dickson's
After Shave: RazoRock Blue Barbershop After Shaving Splash
Cologne: Tommy Bahama St. Barts EdC

I was in a "blue" mood for today's shave so RazoRock WTP Blue Barbershop was selected. Man this is a great "Blue" scent and the performance is great too! What a bargain at the price for this soap! The Yaqi Badger continues to impress! So far this is a great brush, especially at this price! Whipped up a great lather and proceeded with the shave.

Been awhile since I used the Super Speed, so not being in a straight mood today I went with it. 3 passes and some clean up and I'm BBS+. Did somehow manage to get a slight weeper on the chin. Other than that, no alum sting and a great shave!

Finished with the matching after shave and then a few spritzes of the St. Barts. Yeah that works!

Haven't used an "Aventus" type scent in a while so I went with Emperor today. A very nice scent! Typcial RazoRock performance! Whipped up a great lather with the Disruptor as expected.

Well in hind sight I could have used my RazoRock Mission razor and made this an all RR shave, but I wanted to use the Fatboy today. He didn't disappoint! A great BBS+ shave. No nicks, weepers, or alum sting.

Finished with the matching after shave and the some vasilis of the Zcnet and I'm smelling great!

Straight Razor Shave #290

Razor: Hess 44
Brush: Wolf Whiskers Bishop "Party on Bourbon Street" with Elite Razor 28mm Manchurian White Knot
Soap: PannaCrema Nuavia Rossa
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Humphreys Witch Hazel
After Shave: Floïd Black After Shave
Cologne: L' Instant De Guerlain Pour Homme EdT

Happy Birthday to me! 56 years old today! So I wanted to use a special soap. PanaCrema was selected. Yeah this soap is expensive and if @cmh737 aka Chris H. hadn't given me this jar I might have never experienced it! Thanks again Chris! If you have never used one of the PanaCrema soaps you really need too. This soap rocks. Strength of scent is a 5 of 5 and performance is off the charts. The scent profile is woody, sandalwood, and oriental, then there's amber and musk in the tail. A great scent!

The last time I used the Hess it was a little tuggy, so I took it back to the Trans Ark for some touch up. Success! 3 passes and some clean up and I'm BBS. No nicks, or weepers and just a little alum sting. A great shave!

In honesty you really could skip an after shave with this soap, its that good! I did decide to use on today though. The Floid black is a good match and I paired it with the L'Instant. Yeah that Rocks!
