Great update Craig! Hope things are going well for you starting in on the new week!

Nice catch-up. That R4L scent has always interested me. I saw they were still available a week or two ago.

After Shave: L'Oreal Men Expert After Shave Balm

Celebrating the Alabama Crimson Tide victory over the Tennessee Volunteers 58 to 21 Saturday. ROLL TIDE! FYI this was the 12 time in a row that Alabama has won this match up and this is the most points that Alabama has ever scored against Tennessee.

Chris H. aka cmh737 PIF'd me this sample of Through The Fire Fine Craft Sting Ray a while back and I'm just now getting around to using it. Once again thanks Chris! 1st of all the scent of this soap is very nice. A fougere base with some citrus and woodsy notes. I'm digging it! Strength of scent in the tub is a 2 of 5 and maybe it makes it to a 2.5 when lathered. I used the SV method and loaded the Cheswick from the sample container. I had plenty of soap loaded on the brush in 30 seconds. This soap lathered very easily, but was a little thirsty. Slickness and glide/cushion are great. Residual slickness is excellent! No issues at all with stability. The scent did last for the entire shave.

3 passes and just a little touch up. No nicks or weepers and just a tiny bit of alum sting on the chin and neck. Overall a nice BBS+ shave.

Finished with the balm and I'm ready to face this Monday!

Straight Razor Shave #216
Razor: Allegany Instrument Corp. WP
Brush: The Shaving Cadre Brush Eric Sorrentino Barzini with 25MM Quartermoon synthetic knot
Soap: Wheat State Soaps Sweet Tobacco
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Dickson's
After Shave: Clubman Reserve Whiskey Woods After Shave
Cologne: Cremo No. 8 Bourbon & Oak Cologne

1st time using a soap from this maker. I like the scent of this soap, it's a sweet pipe tobacco scent just like the name says. Strength of scent is 2 of 5 in the tub and a 3 of 5 lathered. The scent lasts for the entire shave. As per the norm I used the SV method and had no problem loading the soap. Lathering was easy. I can't remember the amount of water used, but so therefore it must not have stood out as being thirsty. The performance of the soap is good. Good slickness, glide/cushion, and residual slickness. No stability issues.

3 passes and some clean up with the AIC and I'm BBS-. A couple of weepers and a little alum burn.

Finished with the Whiskey Woods, a nice match to the scent, then followed with some of the Cremo Bourbon and Oak Cologne. A good scent pairing!

Can't say anything about SV that hasn't been said. Great stuff!

Razor: Gillette Slim Adjustable I2
Blade: Astra Superior Platinum
Brush: Stirling Soap Co. Boar Brush - 24mm
Soap: Williams Mug Shaving Soap
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Dickson's
After Shave 1: Element 7 Post Shave Balm
After Shave 2: Christian Dior Fahrenheit After Shave
Cologne: Christian Dior Fahrenheit EdT

Working on honing a straight razor for a friend and it has turned into a JOB! Anyhow I wasn't in a straight razor mood at all so grabbed the Slim and loaded it with a ASP. Haven't used Williams in an while so it was chosen today. Whipped up a great Williams lather with the Boar and 3 passe later I'm BBS+ with no nicks or weepers and no alum sting.

Finished with some balm, because quite frankly the Fahrenheit AS isn't that great performance wise. Then followed with some of the EdT and I'm smelling great!

This was a great smelling shave! Love the scent of PdP No. 63!

Did manage to give myself three slight weepers and a some razor burn on the neck. Should have just stopped with BBS- and not chased the "+".

Finished with the Balm and then a few spritzes of the EdT. Great way to start a Monday!
