Some excellent shaves Craig even despite the slight chin mishap. I know you are busy...don't worry...we will be here when you have time. Try not to work too hard!

Okay I've gotten way behind. I'm going to do a quick recap of the shaves, basically just the highlights, if any. I don't know if I'll ever get caught up on reading!!! Sorry everyone!

cmh737 PIF'd me this soap. Thanks Chris! The performance was the same as the Rose Dunn. The scent of this soap is very nice. The scent profile from Wild West Shaving Co.'s website is: Black Currant, Vanilla Bean, Amber, Vetiver, Nutmeg. I get everything but the nutmeg, and I just get a slight hint of vanilla.

Finished with some Old Spice. A nice shave!

Straight Razor Shave #207
Razor: Buck Salient #138 of 250
Brush: The Shaving Cadre Legacy Brush
Soap: CBL Premium Shave Soap The Shaving Cadre
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Dickson's
After Shave: Barbasol Brisk After Shave
Cologne: Tommy Bahama St. Barts Eau De Cologne

The scent of this soap is very light to me, maybe a 1 of 5 and it doesn't open up when lathered. If anything it got less. I really can't pick out any individual scents in it. Great performance else wise.

Soap: CBL Premium Shave Soap Cigar Shop Cowboy
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Dickson's
After Shave: Bootlegger El Dorado
Cologne: Jimmy Choo Man Intense EdT

This scent is a good 2 of 5 and opens up to a 2.5 to 3 of 5. The scent is pretty much as named. I picture Clint Eastwood's character, The Stranger in "High Plains Drifter" smoking his cigar in my cigar lounge. I really like this scent!

Okay I don't know what Chad aka cvargo is smelling to get tumbleweeds from this soap, but then again, I've never smelled a tumble week, so maybe he is right. Anyway I like this scent a good 2 of 5 on the puck and 3 of 5 lathered. Typically excellent SV performance. I get some light citrus, some herbal notes, and slight Eucalyptus sitting on a nice woody amber base. Great Smelling Soap!

Had some mail calls about this time also.
Some Cologne Samples (The Creed is Green Irish Tweed)

Scored some Barbasol Pacific Rush!

Straight Razor Shave #208
Razor: Klas Tornblom Eskilstuna
Brush: Wolf Whiskers Bishop "Party on Bourbon Street" with Elite Razor 28mm Manchurian White Knot
Soap: Barrister & Mann Reserve Fern
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Dickson's
After Shave: Barrister & Mann Reserve Fern Aftershave Splash
Cologne: Penhaligon's English Fern EdT

A very nice Fougere scented soap. I would describe this as a green fougere. A very nice scent! Great B&M performance. The strength of scent on the puck is a 2.5 of 5 and 3.5 lathered.

The splash is a dead on match. Great face feel, about a 2.5 on the scent strength and I'd say at least 4 to 5 hours on longevity.

Straight Razor Shave #209
Razor: Klas Tornblom Eskilstuna
Brush: Maggard Razors 24mm Black & White Synthetic Shaving Brush, Black Handle
Soap: Dapper Dragon Signature
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Dickson's
After Shave: Barbasol Pacific Rush After Shave
Cologne: Penhaligon's Endymion EdT

This soap scent is a 2.5 of 5 on the puck and a 3.5 lathered. This scent puts me in the mind of orange sherbert, but with a woody kind of note. I like it! I used the SV method and had no issues whipping up a great lather. Excellent slickness, good glide/cushion, good residual slickness. No stability issues. The scent lasted for the entire shave.

Finished with the Barbasol Pacific Rush. This after shave packs a pretty good menthol punch. I really wouldn't want much more. A fresh slightly powdery fougere with some minty hints. Nice! Good face feel, but only about a 2 or 3 hours longevity.

Setup 10-4-2018

I'll get the rest of the shaves caught up here in a little bit.

10-5-2018
Razor: Rockwell 6S (R4 plate)
Blade: PolSilver Super Iridium
Brush: RazoRock Disruptor Synthetic
Soap: CBL Premium Shave Soap Cigar Shop Indian
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Dickson's
After Shave: Paladin Shaving Aftershave Balm
Cologne: Azzaro Pour Homme EdT

Another great CBL performing soap. The scent on this soap is a 2 of 5 and opens up to a 2.5 almost, but not quite 3 of 5 lathered. This soap pretty much smells like my cigar humidor. Yeah I DIG it!

3 passes and just a tad bit of touch up with the Rockwell produced a nice BBS+ with no nicks, or weepers, and just a slight alum sting on the lower neck. Had some stubborn stubble there today.

Finished with the Paladin ASB with couple of spritzes of the EdT mixed in.

The Azzaro Pour Homme is a described as a fougere aromatic woody scent. I'd say that pretty much sums it up. There are a lot of scents in this cologne and I really can't pick out any. I do like the scent! It has pretty good projection and a good 6 hours of longevity.

Setup 10-5-2018

Well if that don't beat all!!! I've been taking my laptop to the cigar lounge ever since it 1st opened, over 7 years ago. Many glasses of adult beverages, water, and lattes have been drink around, over, and near it. Well tonight I spilled whiskey onto the keyboard and it looks like the keyboard is shot! I've taken it apart and it did look like it was confined to the keyboard. I did try cleaning it, but it still has issues. I've got a replacement on order, but it'll be the 17th at the earliest before it gets here. Feels weird not to have my laptop with me when I'm at the lounge. Hopefully the new keyboard will fix it up.

I've taken Thursday, Friday and Tuesday off work to give myself 6 days of "staycation". I did take some time to clean and hone a couple of vintage straights.

1st was the Geo H. Weyer Vulcan Steel. This is an 11/16" blade and looks to be a 1/2 hollow. All I did was some polishing with some Flitz and a micro fiber.

I set the bevel on the Shapton Pro 1K and took it through the progression with the 5K, 8K, and 12K. I did about 25 laps with Dan's Honing oil on the 600 side of the Trans Ark and then 50 with mineral sprites. Then laps with Smith's on the 2000 side till it stuck. Followed by water only till it stuck. Tree topping nicely.

Straight Razor Shave #210
Razor: Geo H. Weyer Vulcan Steel
Brush: Maggard Razors 24mm Synthetic Shaving Brush, Marble Handle
Soap: Soap Commander Respect
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Dickson's
After Shave 1: Aqua Velva Sensitive 5 in 1 After Shave Balm
After Shave 2: Soap Commander Respect Aftershave Splash
Cologne: Guerlain Homme L'Eau Boisee EdT

Went with a know soap to test the edge on the Vulcan Steel straight. I'll give this one an A, nice and sharp and very smooth. 3 passes and some clean up that I got too aggressive with yielded a BBS have, with 3 slight weepers and some pretty major alum sting on the neck. Hence the 2 aftershave.

Finished with the Guerlain Homme. I'd describe this scent as a limey, grassy, vetiver, with a woodsy musk base. Very nice! Good spillage and a longevity of about 5 or 6 hours.

PdP No 63. Need I say any more? A great shave! 3 passes and some touch up for a BBS+ with no nicks or weepers and just a slight alum sting on the lower neck.

WOW! Awesome posts...great mail calls...and spectacular finds! And yes...please tell...where did you pick up the Pacific Rush?

Wow, Craig! Great reads, set ups, pix, and mail call!!

The Azzaro is some good stuff. To me, it's similar to Rive Gauche but with some added woody notes. And the Guerlain Homme L'Eau Boisee is one I reach for often. Looks like they've changed the bottle design from the one I have; hopefully not the formula. It also layers extremely well with one Vasili of Guerlain Vetiver.
