Straight Razor Shave #203
Razor: Hess 44
Brush: Stirling Soap Co. Finest Badger Shave Brush - 26mm
Soap: Lisa's Natural Herbal Creations Coconut Oud Artisan Shaving Soap
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Dickson's
After Shave: Paladin Shaving Aftershave Balm
Cologne: Art of Shaving Oud Suede

Okay the scent of this soap is AWESOME! Strength of scent in the tub is 2.5 of 5. Lathered is 3.5 of 5. Scent lasted for the entire shave and this was along one! Performance was the same as the Irish Green Tweed.

I did the TSC Hot Pepper Challenge while doing this shave. During this shave I ate Jalapenos, Serrano, and Tabasco peppers. I videoed the shave and it is in 3 parts.

Razor: Gillette Fatboy F3
Blade: PolSilver Super Iridium
Brush: Simpson Duke 3 in Pure Badger
Soap: Lisa's Natural Herbal Creations Cedar & Saffron
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Dickson's
After Shave: Suavecito Whiskey Bar After Shave
Cologne: Cremo Bourbon & Oak Cologne

I wanted to go back and do the other Lisa's old formula soap that I have to confirm that the new formula is indeed an improvement. I can now as stated with my use of the Irish Green Tweed confirm that this is a correct statement.

A nice shave with the Fatboy, just use a DE with the old formula. 3 passes and some clean up and I'm BBS! One weeper and just a tad bit of alum sting on the neck.

Finished with the Whiskey Bar ASL and then a few spritzes of the Bourbon & Oak. A very nice pairing!

Razor: Gillette Fatboy F3
Blade: PolSilver Super Iridium
Brush: Saponificio Varesino SV 2.0 Shaving Brush in Ebony Wood
Soap: CBL Premium Shave Soap Ghost Lime
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Dickson's
After Shave: Royall Lyme All Purpose Lotion
Cologne: Royall Lyme All Purpose Lotion

Well as expected Chris L. aka CBLindsay has created an excellent shave soap! I've used past formulations of his soaps and all of them have performed well. This one is top notch for sure! Strength of scent is a good 2.5 of 5 in the tub and lathered it's 4 of 5. I used the SV method. The SV brush had no problem loading and then producing a great lather in no time. I think this soap has a pretty wide water band. I pushed it a little on the last pass and it did not break down. Slickness, glide/cushion, and residual slickness are excellent! No stability issues at all!

I let time creep up on me and I just wanted to do a quick and easy shave, but still wanted to give a good evaluation of the soap. I just grabbed the Fatboy again. 3 passes and just some clean up yielded a nice BBS with no nicks, weepers, or alum sting.

Finished with the Royall Lyme. Then off to the cigar lounge to watch the Alabama vs Ole Miss game. ROLL TIDE!

Pre Shave: LAB Series Pro LS All-In-One Cleansing Gel
Razor: Delta Echo Crimson Tide Fatboy G1
Blade: PolSilver Super Iridium
Brush: RazoRock BC Silvertip Plissoft Synthetic
Soap: Soap Commander Renewal
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Dickson's
After Shave: Epsilon Blue Mediterranean After Shave
Cologne: Amway Personal Accents Great Expectations for him EdT

1st shave this week and as per the usual I'm celebrating the Alabama Crimson Tide victory over the Ole Miss Rebels, 62 to 7. ROLL TIDE! FYI this makes Alabama the 1st ever SEC team to score over 50 points in all 3 opening games of the season. ROLL TIDE ROLL!

Went with the Soap Commander Renewal which is described as a Floral Fougere scent. I like the scent, kind of a Brut scent with some light floral notes. The strength of scent is a 2 of 5 in the tub and a 2.5 to 3 when lathered. The scent lasted for the entire shave. Typical Soap Commander performance for me.

3 passes with the Delta Echo, with just a little clean up on the chin and neck and I'm BBS+ with no nicks, weepers, or alum sting.

Finished with a good splash of the Blue Mediterranean ASL and then some spritzes of the Great Expectations. Nice pairing!

Thanks Tim!
Beautiful pic, What, NO peppers !?!?!
Thanks Dave! LOL!

Nice collection of shaves there Craig, and nice comparative shaves with Lisa's new and old formulas. Agree on all counts, though I think the post-shave is where that soap shines brightest!

Catching up again!

Straight Razor Shave #204
Razor: Hess 44
Brush: Omega S-Brush
Soap: Wild West Shaving Co. Rose Dunn
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Dickson's
After Shave: Pacific Shaving Co. Caffeinated Aftershave Balm
Cologne: Aramis Tuscany Per Uomo EdT

Back a couple of months or so ago cmh737 aka Chris H. sent me this soap and I'm just now getting around to using it. This is my 1st time to use this brand soap. 1st of all the tub/container is small, so loading is kinda of a pain, but the soap does load easily. I used the SV method. The S-Brush whipped up a good lather without any issues, kind of a thirsty soap, but not too bad. The scent is rose, coconut, and amber. They meld together nicely. Strength of scent is a 2 of 5 in the tub and a 3 of 5 lathered. The lather was nice and slick, cushion/glide was good, and so was residual slickness. No stability issues.

3 passes and some clean up with the Hess yielded a nice BBS almost BBS+ shave. No nicks, weepers, or alum sting.

Finished with the Pacific Shaving Co. ASB. Then a few spritzes of the Tuscany. Not even attempting to match scents here. Really no scent to match.

Straight Razor Shave #205
Razor: Grandad's Union Razor Cutlery Co.
Brush: Envy Shave 24mm White Supreme 2 Band Badger Alluminati Classic - Blue
Soap: Declaration Grooming Bandwagon
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Dickson's
After Shave: Declaration Grooming Bandwagon Aftershave
Cologne: D.R. Harris Windsor EdT

Another 1st time to use this brand of soap and aftershave. This is their take on the classic "Barbershop" scent. It's different that's for sure. Strength of scent is light in the tub and lathered. maybe a 2 of 5 at most. This is by design according to Declaration Grooming so it doesn't interfere with what ever fragrance you decided to use. From Declaration Grooming's website: a classic powdery-musk and sandalwood base bolstered by lavender, camphor, coumarin, tarragon, and a touch of anise with a bergamot top. I do get the powdery and some slight musk and sandalwood, the lavender is present and the bergamont gives it just a hint of limey citrus. I kinda like this scent, it grows on you.

I used the SV method and had no issues loading or making the lather. I'd classify this soap as thirsty, it can hold and does need a good bit of water. The lather slickness, glide/cushion, residual slickness, and stability are all excellent. This a great performing soap.

2 passes with the straight and I grabbed the F3 Fatboy to do the ATG pass just to see how it felt with this soap. As expected I could barley feel the blade at all. A nice BBS+ shave with no nicks, weepers, or alum sting.

Finished with the matching Aftershave which is a dead on match scent wise. Again the scen
t is light by design, but still had pretty good longevity at least 4 to 5 hours. Paired it with the D.R. Harris Windsor. A very nice match up!

Blade: PolSilver Super Iridium
Brush: Simpson X3 Commodore in Best Badger
Soap: CBL Premium Shave Soap Tabacaveg
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Dickson's
After Shave: Tabacaveg After Shave Lotion

Celebrating the Alabama Crimson Tide victory over the Texas A&M Aggies 45 to 23. ROLL TIDE!
Went with the CBL Tabacaveg. Great scent, great lather, great shave. BBS+ but it took some doing on my chin for some reason. There was some alum sting there and just a little on the neck, which was not expected.
