Straight Razor Shave #204
Razor: Hess 44
Brush: Omega S-Brush
Soap: Wild West Shaving Co. Rose Dunn
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Dickson's
After Shave: Pacific Shaving Co. Caffeinated Aftershave Balm
Cologne: Aramis Tuscany Per Uomo EdT
Back a couple of months or so ago cmh737 aka Chris H. sent me this soap and I'm just now getting around to using it. This is my 1st time to use this brand soap. 1st of all the tub/container is small, so loading is kinda of a pain, but the soap does load easily. I used the SV method. The S-Brush whipped up a good lather without any issues, kind of a thirsty soap, but not too bad. The scent is rose, coconut, and amber. They meld together nicely. Strength of scent is a 2 of 5 in the tub and a 3 of 5 lathered. The lather was nice and slick, cushion/glide was good, and so was residual slickness. No stability issues.
3 passes and some clean up with the Hess yielded a nice BBS almost BBS+ shave. No nicks, weepers, or alum sting.
Finished with the Pacific Shaving Co. ASB. Then a few spritzes of the Tuscany. Not even attempting to match scents here. Really no scent to match.

Straight Razor Shave #205
Razor: Grandad's Union Razor Cutlery Co.
Brush: Envy Shave 24mm White Supreme 2 Band Badger Alluminati Classic - Blue
Soap: Declaration Grooming Bandwagon
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Dickson's
After Shave: Declaration Grooming Bandwagon Aftershave
Cologne: D.R. Harris Windsor EdT
Another 1st time to use this brand of soap and aftershave. This is their take on the classic "Barbershop" scent. It's different that's for sure. Strength of scent is light in the tub and lathered. maybe a 2 of 5 at most. This is by design according to Declaration Grooming so it doesn't interfere with what ever fragrance you decided to use. From Declaration Grooming's website: a classic powdery-musk and sandalwood base bolstered by lavender, camphor, coumarin, tarragon, and a touch of anise with a bergamot top. I do get the powdery and some slight musk and sandalwood, the lavender is present and the bergamont gives it just a hint of limey citrus. I kinda like this scent, it grows on you.
I used the SV method and had no issues loading or making the lather. I'd classify this soap as thirsty, it can hold and does need a good bit of water. The lather slickness, glide/cushion, residual slickness, and stability are all excellent. This a great performing soap.
2 passes with the straight and I grabbed the F3 Fatboy to do the ATG pass just to see how it felt with this soap. As expected I could barley feel the blade at all. A nice BBS+ shave with no nicks, weepers, or alum sting.
Finished with the matching Aftershave which is a dead on match scent wise. Again the scen
t is light by design, but still had pretty good longevity at least 4 to 5 hours. Paired it with the D.R. Harris Windsor. A very nice match up!

Went with the CBL Tabacaveg. Great scent, great lather, great shave. BBS+ but it took some doing on my chin for some reason. There was some alum sting there and just a little on the neck, which was not expected.
