Straight Razor Shave #202
Pre Shave: Bull Dog Original Face Wash
Razor: Klas Tornblom Eskilstuna
Brush: Maggard Razors 24mm Synthetic Shaving Brush, Marble Handle
Soap: Lisa's Natural Herb Tobacco & Bay
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse Alum Block and Thayers
After Shave: Bootlegger's Virginia Perfecto
Cologne: Davidoff Hot Water EdT

I wanted to use the old formula of Lisa's soap before I used the new release to gauge the differences. This formula is easy to lather, has great slickness and glide/cushion. The residual slickness is good. Strength of scent is a 3 of 5 both in the tin an lathered. No issue with stability and the scent last for the entire shave. If the new version is better I'm looking forward to using it!

3 passes with the Klas, just a little clean up on the chin, produced a BBS shave. Had more alum sting than expected, not a lot just more than expected. No nicks or weepers.

Finished off with the Bootlegger's Virginia Perfecto after shave. Then a few spritzes of the Hotwater. All 3 of these scents played very nicely together.

Watched the Alabama vs Arkansas State game in the cigar lounge. ROLL TIDE! Enjoyed a Canimao cigar the 1st half and a Asylum 13 7x70 the 2nd half and beyond. Had some Wild Turkey Bourbon also.

I'm watching the Clemson and Texas A&M game now. Pretty good game.

Finally caught up, Craig! sounds like a few very nice shaves were had! I'm looking forward to your thoughts on Lisa's new formulation!

All caught up, Craig. Good reads. And that new Soap Commander scent sounds interesting.

It is very nice that College Football is back. Now if the PSU receivers can learn to catch a ball, we might have something here.

1st shave of the week today due to staying up too late Sunday night and needing the extra 30 minutes of sleep more than a shave.
Celebrating the Alabama Crimson Tide Win over Arkansas State. ROLL TIDE!

Went with the new formulation of Lisa's soap this morning. I can say that it is better than the previous version. Residual slickness and glide/cushion is where I'd say the most noticeable improvements are. I like the plastic tubs better than the tins, but I didn't have a problem with them. Scent is a good 2.5 of 5 in the tub and opens up to a 3.5 when lathered and stays for the entire shave. I don't have any Creed to compare it too, but I can say it is very close to Davidoff Cool Water. I used the SV method and bloomed the soap while I showered. Dumped the bloom water into my scuttle and I loaded the TSC brush for 30 seconds. Had no issue whipping up a great lather in no time. I'd say only about a teaspoon to teaspoon and a half of water. Excellent performance from this lather. I even pushed the lather with at least another half teaspoon of water after my shave and it didn't break down.

3 passes and just a tad bit of clean up yielded a BBS+ shave with no nicks, weepers, and just a barely noticeable bit of alum sting on my chin and lower neck.

Finished off with the Duke Cannon Balm, just because the Davidoff ASL doesn't really do much for me performance wise, but it does smell good!

A couple of spritzes of the EdT and I'm smooth faced and smelling great!
