Great shave and fantastic Mail Call! I've been on the edge of pulling the trigger on a bottle of WSP's Olympus EDP for a while, but have held off for unknown reasons. Maybe because I already have two Aventus-inspired frags, but that's no excuse.

Why are you now bringing logic to this hobby of ours!

Straight Razor Shave #178

Pre Shave: LAB Series Pro LS All-In-One Cleansing Gel
Razor: Grandad's Union Razor Cutlery Co.
Brush: Stirling Soap Co Synthetic 2-Band 24mm
Soap: Asylum Razor Work Colonia by SV
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Dickson's
After Shave: Epsilon Blue Mediterranean After Shave
Cologne: Suavecito Oscuro EdT

I was going through my soaps and ran across the Colonia and realized I hadn't used it in a while. Don't know why, it's made by SV their Beta 4.1. Typical SV performance. Used the SV method and whipped up a great lather with the Stirling Synthetic.
Did 3 passes and no clean up with Grandad's razor. One slight weeper, just a little more alum sting than I was expecting, but nothing to get concerned about. A nice BBS-.

Splashed on some of the Epsilon Blue. This is supposed be a clone of the now unobtainium Floid Blue. I've never smelled the Floid so I can compare. It's very nice clean, slightly citrus scent. I like it. The face feel is excellent. Just enough menthol to notice it. Left my face feeling great. Longevity is about 2 hours.

A few spritzes of the Oscuro finished the shav
e. The Oscuro pretty much smells like the regular pomade. A nice slightly sweet, musky, manly scent.with a little caramel. Believe or not it paired well with the Epsilon. Longevity is a good 6 to 7 hours.

Took today off, wished I had taken yesterday off too, but I didn't. I did get the Hess 44 pinned today. I got the edge ready to set the bevel on. It wasn't in really bad shape, but did take a while to get it where I wanted it. I did all of it on the Shapton 1K.

Currently at the cigar lounge. Just finished a Rocky Patel Edge A cigar with some Knob Creek Rye whiskey. Next up is a Liga Privida Feral Pig. A nice night on the patio. Cold front has moved in and it very pleasant with a nice breeze.

Suavecito skull! Yes!

Sounds like a great shave Craig and a spectacularly relaxing evening.

Well Craig, I just happen to still have about a half bottle of the Floid Blue. I'll send a sample and then you can do a comparison.

There is some good stuff going on there Craig! Glad you got a little reprieve from the heat! Enjoy the cigars and Rye!

I wanna spend a weekend at the cigar lounge with Craig!
Anytime Dave!

Most excellent, Craig!
Thanks Josh!
Nice read and shave. Glad you got some chill time and cooler weather.
Thanks Dave!

All caught up. Great shaves. Sorry about the problems at work. I hope it has gotten better.

Pre Shave: Bull Dog Original Face Wash
Razor: Rockwell 6S (R4 plate)
Blade: Parker Premium Platinum
Brush: Stirling Boar
Soap: Stirling Soap Co. Lime
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, and Dickson's
After Shave: Stirling Soap Co. Lime After Shave
Cologne: Tommy Bahama St. Barts Cologne

Pretty much a mindless shave today. I was in Lime mood and I haven't used a Stirling in a while so the Lime sample got the nod.

Whipped up a great lather with the Boar, lost 9 hairs, and proceeded with the shave.
3 passes with the 6S and the Parker blade is still doing okay. BBS+ with just a little alum sting on the neck. No nicks or weepers.

Finished with the matching ASL and the a few spritizes of the St. Barts. I'm good to go!

Setup 7-7-208

I did go a bike ride today, didn't accomplish much else.

Good call, since it’s summer time I guess I should pull out the live as well.

Nice one Craig. I've had the same issue with the Stirling boar...to the point where it's been sitting, unused for a while. Might have to break it out to give it a try again soon.
