Nice shave Craig! Sorry to hear about the issues with the humidor, though glad to hear that you got it resolved.
Thanks Josh!

Nice read. Saved the cigars! I really like the pic even though I didn't like that scent.
Thanks Chad! Well we all know your sniffer is calibrated to tumbleweed, so ....

Straight Razor Shave #150

Pre Shave: Dove Men+Care Hydrate+ Face Scrub
Razor: Grandad's Union Razor Cutlery Co.
Brush: Fine Accoutrements Classic Angel Hair Synthetic 20mm
Soap: Fine Accoutrements American Blend
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse Alum Block, and Thayers
After Shave: Fine Accoutrements American Blend After Shave Lotion
Cologne: Hoyt's Cologne

It's always been interesting to me how without coordinating anything, a group of us will choose the same kind of scent or in some cases even the same software at the same time. I had laid out this shave 2 days ago and what did I see in reading the journals, a bunch of Barber Shop scents being used, and even one other person using the same cologne.

Can't say much about Fine products other than if you haven't used them, you should! The soaps and after shaves are great performers and the scents are excellent!

Of course I had to used my Fine brush, using the SV method an excellent lather was produced with ease. 3½ passes and a little clean up, with Grandad's razors and I'm BBS+ No nicks, weepers, or alum burn. A very enjoyable shave!

Finished off with a splash of the ASL and some dotties of the Hoyt's. A nice paring!

Well, Fine is another one of those that I see a lot of guys using that I still need to try

Awesome stuff Craig. And alot of us on the same wavelength for sure.

NurseDave: rumor is, Fine sourced and is using the Tabac formula. While I think Tabac is tad slicker the Fine soaps are awesome.

Love the set-up Craig, and great shave from it! I'm one of those on the Fine bandwagon; great soaps for sure!

Thanks Chad! It's always struck me as interesting how that happens within groups. I had a occurrence with Dave yesterday, he contacted me via facebook message and I sent him a PM here, both of us at the same time, about the same general topic, but involving different people. Kinda freaky really.

I have yet to try the fine soaps, but their aftershave smells great. As much as I love Tabac, I am sure I would like it. Just one of those too much soap too little time situations.

Straight Razor Shave #151

Pre Shave: CBL Preshave
Razor: Grandad's Union Razor Cutlery Co.
Brush: Wolf Whiskers Bishop "Party on Bourbon Street" with Elite Razor 28mm Manchurian White Knot
Soap: Van Yulay Soap of the Gods Royal Oudh
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse Alum Block, and Dickson's
After Shave: Paladin Shaving After Shave Balm
Cologne: Amway Personal Accents imagine for him

Late afternoon shave today. Didn't shave this morning choose to get the extra sleep instead.

The scent of this soap is awesome! Definitely Oud. Strength of scent in the tub is a 2.5 of 5 and lathered is a good 4 of 5. Unfortunately that is best thing about it. Don't get me wrong, it's a good soap, just not great. It lathers easily and the slickness is good, but residual slickness is just okay. I'll probably at some point and time get another tub of this brand, just because some of their scent interest me, but no rush.

The Elite Razor knot feels great. It loads like a champ and has good release. Backbone is just right for me.

Grandad's Union Razor delivered a nice BBS shave. No nicks, weepers, or alum sting.

Finished with the Paladin ASB with a spritz of imagine for him mixed in. Then a few more spritzes and I'm good to go. Not a scent match, but there really wasn't a scent to match left from the shave. If there had of been, they would play well together.

Straight Razor Shave #152

Pre Shave: LAB Series PRO LS All-In-One Face Cleansing Gel
Razor: Klas Tornblom Eskilstuna
Brush: Saponificio Varesino SV 2.0 Shaving Brush in Ebony wood
Soap: Martin de Candre Fougère
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse Alum Block, and Dickson's
After Shave: Paladin Shaving After Shave Balm
Cologne: Amway Personal Accents imagine for him

Today's shave was an international shave, soap from France, brush from Italy, razor from Sweden, aftershave from US, and Cologne from England.

1st of all the soap. Martin de Candre WOW! This was the easiest to lather soap I have used. Did the SV method and the SV brush. It loaded very easily, and the Later was Excellent! Slick, good cushion/glide, residual slickness, stablitiy all Tier 1 Box one to use Chad's rating system. The scent is very nice fougere, more green in a foliage way, with some nice woodsy notes. Strength of scent was not that much in the tub, 1 of 5. Lathered it was good 3.5 of 5 and lasted throughout the shave.

3½ passes with the Klas and I was BBS+, I chased the grail and shouldn't have, got some alum feedback on the neck, not home alone but noticeable.

Finished with the Paladin and a spritz of English Fern mixed in. Then a few vasilis and I'm smelling great!

Great couple of shaves Craig! MdC is an awesome soap, if it doesn't dry you out. It almost self-lathers!
