CBLindsay's brain droppings

Glad to hear things are on the upswing for you Chris. I need to make a trip to my local Sally's soon for my new little weck

Nice stuff Chris !!! I need to get back to my Weck Straight.

I’m really enjoying the shaves. The guard is nice but I’m about to get equally good results without the guard as long as I stay aware of my technique

I’ve upgraded the roaster, it now has a glass extension that allows for much more coffee per roast and delivers great consistency between batches.
I’m aging some beans in cigar boxes for my next adventure
Gotchya!
....Stirling soap is showing no signs of giving up, that one once sample is like the ever lasting gobstopper of shaving. There is no reason someone shouldn't buy a sample of every flavor of stirling soap. The performance is excellent and the variety unbelievable.
Another Willie Wonka reference!.....And gotta agree about Stirling. While I haven't actually shaved with all the scents, I am, however, up to 47.

BTW, glad things are on the upturn with you.

Great to hear that some stress has been taken off, Chris. Totally agree regarding Stirling. Excellent soaps, and one of the best values out there.

Awesome to know that your life is a little less chaotic and that things are looking up. You know you always have us here and we appreciate everything you do for us!

CBLindsay’s Most Excellent Journey
…PART DEUX

The world NEEDS more excellent journeys, so I have decided to revive my TSC journal to deliver custom CBL excellence. I can’t promise much in the way of consistency, or for that matter much shaving…but I will try to deliver an occasional dose of excellence as I recount my journey through this place called life.

Cruising through some of my old entries I can see how I might owe y’all something of an update.

Wow, where do I start? Let’s see. 2019 was a rather unique year, well, really it brought a lot of suckage to my household, so unique in this context kinda means …it was a blend of pure organic suck and some less sucky stuff with a dash of pretty good stuff thrown in just to really bring out the flavors of suck. Then there was this Pandemic thing (maybe you heard about it) and that was fun…well, not ALL of it was fun, but we’ll leave a pin in that at come back to it some other time.

…AND now we are here. The most excellent journey continues as Christmas 2021 hurls nearer and the “2” year approaches. The “2” year you ask? Well, twenty-twenty-two…it has 3 twos, quite alliterative I would say. When I was a younger lad I felt the number 2 was a favorite of mine, often choosing it over the more popular “7”. Now that I think about it, I was also rather fond of the classic “21”, so one might think the sequential year twenty twenty-one would have made me happy on some level. To be honest, 2021 has left me unimpressed and really tired. I am NOT a fan of the number “20” or “22” …but as we have already established, I DO like the number “2”, so only time will tell if my opinion of a number makes one lick of difference in how my life (and this most excellent journey) unfolds. My wife has a well established and very deep love of EVEN numbers…so I suspect she will enjoy 2022 more than 2021 simply based on its evenness.

Perhaps the fact that my wife has arranged a 14 day cruise to Hawaii in January will influence her opinion of the year. Although…as I write this Hawaii is under a BLIZZARD WARNING, expected to be blasted by 100mph+ winds WHILE having as much as a foot of SNOW dumped on the islands. Seriously, when did blizzards in Hawaii become a thing?

ANYWAY, I digress. The Christmas tree is up, decoration fill the four corners of our home and the stockings are hung by the fireplace (as if I care). All that is left to do is hang some lights on the house and blow up a lawn full of decorations…sounds so easy doesn’t it? I won’t bore everyone with tails of my having to haul my Santa sized butt up and down a ladder a thousand times, dragging out dozens of boxes marked “Christmas” (I joke of course, the boxes aren’t marked)…then putting those same boxes BACK in the attic only so, I can repeat the process before going on a cruise to blizzard island. My TSC reindeer buddy gifts have been selected and may or may not be on the way (or already delivered) to them. And I have some fun gifts about to be put under our tree (I know because I bought them)

Tomorrow, my wife and I will be celebrating our 28th anniversary (the Orchid anniversary just in case you wondered). I have a couple of orchid plants being delivered today and I made her a nice orchid based perfume I am calling “28 Orchids”. I still have some of the fragrance blend and a label if there are any other TSC gents here in need of such a gift. I have a gift certificate to Texas Roadhouse, given to me by a thankful client, so I suspect we will go there for dinner.

That’s all for now. Remind me to tell the story about what not to when your wife is talking angrily in her sleep, it could save a life.

What an update! And I think many will echo your enthusiasm for the interpretation in numerology you explained. Twos and ones together suck!

On a happier note…happy anniversary! To you and the missus.

And Texas Roadhouse? Now that is my kind of anniversary night out. I can tear up some food there!
