Razor: Timeless 68 OC

Blade: Gillette Rubie (6)

Brush: Eric Sorrentino Seafoam 24 mm Qtr Moon Synthetic

Soap: Declaration Grooming Darkfall

Aftershave 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla

Aftershave 2: Avon Tai Winds

First the razor. I LOVE this thing, just a little blade feel for me and extremely efficient. It is "The" razor for me with the Rockwell 6s a close second. I know we all have different characteristics and so different razors will work for each person differently. I just can't see how someone would see this as harsh and then rave about a Single Ring as smooth and not aggressive at all. I personally get the exact/complete opposite effect from these 2 razors. I could shave with either but given a choice and price wasn't in the picture I'm grabbing this 1 without a thought or hesitation. Anyway to each their own and that's what makes this hobby and the journey finding what we like such a fun thing for each of us.

The soap was another sample from Josh (Dagwoodz) As I removed an amount to put in my bowl I find the consistency to be extremely dry and chunky/flaky but smashed it into the bowl and it became the typical luxuriant lather we expect from the Icarus base. The scent I can't describe other then a darker pleasant scent that definitely says Fall weather. A perfect scent for today's weather and it got written into my list of purchase worthy for Soap and Splash down the road. It also got added to the mix mash tub with the St. Barts giving an awesome start to my Clown Puke tub. I'm writing down what gets put in there as well.

Topped things off with the Alcoholado 70 and some Tai Winds. Just a great shave to start the day. Heading to a neighboring Congregation this morning. Hope everyone in the Cadre has a stellar day !!

Man...I have been really wondering about the Darkfall scent. I know the soap base is some good stuff...but have been wondering about the scent. I think it is in my wheelhouse. Great shave and pic Dave!

Good shave Don! Glad you’re enjoying to OC. Never seen that style of handle before though, which one is that do you know?

Nice read on your last two shaves!
Thanks Chad

Thanks Don, I think you'd like it
I think my ears are ringing.....
Sorry, wasn't trying to ring any ears ? I calls them likes I see's them for myself just like everyone else does for themselves ???

Good shave Don!

DON'T EVER CONFUSE A DON WITH A DAVE AGAIN!!! It would be like confusing a Chris with...well I don't what it's like...just don't do it again!

Razor: Rockwell 6s Plate 5

Blade: Voskhod (5)

Brush: Sorrentino Cadre Member Cashmere

Soap: CBL xmas1

Aftershave 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla

Aftershave 2: Pinaud Reserve Whiskey Woods

The Rockwell 6s is back in da house. While my Timeless is my sexiest razor and I get smooth and efficient shaves with it, the 6s is efficient and a mindless shaver for me. Just finds it's angle for me at least without thought and is as smooth as can be. Surprises me every time. I recommend for ANY new shaver to get the 6c for an inexpensive razor that will help them enjoy and learn quickly at a reasonable price and has adaptability.

Another soap sample from CBL that he hasn't named yet and said labeled it as xmas1 until he gets a name. Not a Christmas scent. It's a nice spicey scent that my wife says should be named Streussel. I LOVE the scent but was getting minor irritation on 1st pass that got to a more pronounced irritation by the 3rd pass. So while the scent is a winner and paired well with the Whiskey Woods, it's a no go for me. Maybe Chris knows what the irritant could be in this one for me to continue to narrow things ( cinnamon perhaps or is vanillan in here?? ) Lather was absolutely phenomenal.

On a side note, while I love my new Captains Choice copper bowl for looks and quality of build, I seem to enjoy the shape and function of the cheap Turkish one. I have a ceramic CC bowl as well so may sell the copper in the BST if there is interest ??
Have a great day Cadre !!

Too bad about the soap..the scent sounds Divine! You do seem to get irritated with many different soaps. Hope you can figure it out soon. I can see why you like your Turkish bowl best. It looks like you can fit that thing in you had and grip it tightly. The handle I imagine gives it some support. Great post today Dave.

Good stuff. I have looked at the Copper bowls but unsure if I really need another bowl. I might start with a Turkish one to see. And this might seem weird but does it smell like pennies?

Nope. I think it is lacquered over which seems to wear some inside it bt I get no smell at all from it. Posted in the BST with pics if want to look, if not I understand.

Thanks Don. Not a lot of soaps but enough to be frustrating.

Good shave Dave!

I must say that I do enjoy access to a gourmand-type soap option in my den. Whether it be Cella, Vitos, or Roasted Oatmeal Stout.

Sorry the CC copper bowl ended up not working for you. I know you were pretty stoked to have it.

Thanks Chris, didn't take long to sell so I'll stick with the other 2 bowls. Shame as it is a looker.
