....No free pens here....

Ah man! I "need" another fountain pen!

It's your brush, post away! Good to see Eric's work will be gracing another den soon.

I've been getting an itchy finger to buy several of the Metropolitan from Amazon just to have around my desk at work. But I "need" some more soaps first.

No problem on this end, post away.

I might have to start sprucing up the progress pics instead of just putting it on the workbench and snapping one off though lol.

Safe travels Dave! Hope the convention goes well.

We just sent delegates out to one in Memphis this last week. Coincidence? Maybe!

Member at another forum turned me on to it. His family used it and it's what he always used so wanted to give it a try. I have the 1 with alcohol (Most you see are without, so watch if it matters) I like it w/Alcohol as an option to my Thayers without.
But have you ever tried generic WH? It’s near the rubbing alcohol and costs about $1.50. It has alcohol. Actually all true witch hazel has alcohol, by definition it has to, 14%. Thayers alcohol free is an anomaly, and it’s not true witch hazel. I’ve tried Dickinson’s WH, which is about twice the price of generic, and I cannot tell the difference. I’d challenge you to try the generic and see how it compares. As I said, the ingredients are identical. Could save you some money.

I used generic WH to cut/create some AS. Very good stuff for the face! It is a little stinky on its own, but not unbearable (for me) and calms down rather quickly.

That brush is going to be dynamite!

Can't go wrong with the Metros. I've got about a dozen of them; and half of them have a stub nib which feels more like an italic - I totally dig 'em.

KJ, sorry I neglected to respond. I'm aware true witch hazel has alcohol. I'll give the grneric a try at some point. I have 3 bottles now so may be a while before I need any. The Humphreys has a slight bay rum scent that's nice. My other 2 are thayers and my aftershaves have alcohol so never mattered.

No worries. Your note about the slight bay rum smell has me curious. Most people describe the generic to have a slightly earthy (dirt) scent or a mild raw bacon scent. I’ve always been in the earthy camp, but every now and then I can see why people say bacon. Bay rum is a new one to me. I’m curious if you are smelling the same thing and your nose interprets it that way, or if the Humphreys actually smells different.
