Chiseled Face Sherlock | Bigelow And Parkin Travel Razor w/Pol Silver SI (10)
Stirling 2 Band Synthetic | Chiseled Face Sherlock Splash

What better razor to use after getting home from a short travel then the Travel razor people would have had their entire trip. This is the Bigelow and Parkin Travel razor. Fun little piece of history. They were produced and used for advertising which was usually stamped on whatever case it was stored in. Mine is a leather sheath with no logo which I preferred. Some pics of it at rest with case and then how you would open it and load a blade and hold with your finger tips to shave. Hardest part is the 2 hands it takes to turn it around to use the other side of the blade.
Nice smooth shave with 10th use of the Pol Silver SI blade. As I stated the most frustrating thing with this razor is trying to use both sides of the blade. For me that requires using two hands to turn it around when switching the side to use. If I shaved 2 handed and just switched it between hands it would be easier but I rarely use this razor. Just have it around as It's a cool piece of history. 2nd use of Sherlock which I really enjoy the scent of. The soap performs great for me. Lathers easy and gives a nice slickness and protection. To me it feels a little dry afterwards so not much residual slickness but when paired with their aftershave splash I get an awesome post shave feel. I love their aftershaves. Don't leave me sticky or dry, just a nice soft feeling of being moisturized. Just the right amount of menthol for me that subsides quickly.

Taking the day off work today to help my Father-in-Law fix a water leak in the yard. They live next door to us and are the reason I moved to KY as they are getting older. Most of my work is about an hour south of me where my parents live in Lafollette,TN and I check on them twice a week when down there. Hope everyone has great shaves and an even better day !!

Nice shave and interesting travel razor Dave! Hope you were able to solve the water leak issue at the FIL's.

Thanks, waiting on a friend to come tonight to finish the connections as it's pex in the ground and I don't have a crimper for it. At least I found the leak in the yard, dug it up and removed the offending leak point. Easy for him to crimp in the splice and they'll be good to go.

Good shave Sherlock!

Awesome razor and even more awesome about helping out the in-laws! It’s something easily forgotten these days...you don’t just marry a partner, you gain a whole new family!

I can imagine that razor could easily get slippery too. Nice job getting a good shave.

What a great razor! I likely wouldn't have any fingers left I shaved with it though!

Thanks Guys for the comments !!

Lisa Natural Herbal Creations - Amber and Tobacco | Timeless .68 OC w/Pol Silver SI (11)
Yaqi 24mm Synthetic | Humphreys Alcoholado Maravilla / Pinaud Citrus Musk

I'm loving this Timeless razor. I seem to get a closer shave with it that lasts longer. Glad I took my time and researched the best gap and set up for me. It paid off in spades. The soap smelled great although a little different then most of what I lean towards. Lather was silky smooth and afforded great protection. It's a winner in my book and look forward to trying the Somali Rose too. A little lather porn for the pic today.

Evening shave for services tonight. Happy shaves and everyone have a great evening !!

Paladin Natchez Trace | Ever Ready 1912 w/Gem (1)
Rubberset 400 Tuxedo | Humphreys Alcoholado Maravilla / Pinaud Clubman

Little job this morning and then home to mow the grass. Triple digit heat indexes here. Shower and a nice shave. Been meaning to try the 1912 to confirm I can let it go as I'm narrowing the den down. Don't care for the huge shovel head. No issues with the shave but not something I'd go to all that often now so in the reduce pile it goes. Grilling chicken tender for the wife(her preference) and a Ribeye for me tonight (My preference) Hope everyone has an outstanding day and be safe.

That's a shame. I want to get one of there brushes at some point when I see one that I can't pass up. Big ticket item for me but they seem to be worth it.

They are. I’ve had many brushes, including Shavemac, Simpson, Rudy Vey...... Paladins are by far my favorite. I’ve toured his facilities and worshops. I’ve seen the way Ken obsesses about each brush. Tiny defects, we would never notice cause him to rework or even toss a handle. Each knot has a custom spacer built to ensure an even loft. Nobody put the level of effort into a single brush that he does. If you buy a Paladin, you are buying quality.

Thanks for the info. I'm watching the site and leaning towards a 26mm. From what I see you don't pic a knot type other the size, they are all the same I guess. Watching and accumulating shave things to sell to fund one.

That's an interesting travel razor. I haven't seen one of them before.
