Bourbon Country Shave Journal - Dave in KY

Good stuff, I get a cinnimon spicy scent that really lasts

From the Florida Water or from the Bourbon?

I love the smell of Florida Water. Sadly, something in it lights me right up, and my face does an impersonation of Rudolph's nose. I had to give my bottle away. It smelled so good that I kept testing to see if I was still sensitive to it. The answer was yes...every time...

Shower Soap: Florida Water

Razor: Timeless .68 OC

Blade: Gillette Rubie (1)

Brush: Paladin 26 mm Harlequin Chief

Soap: SBSW Elysium

Aftershave 1: Thayers Cucumber

Aftershave 2: SBSW Elysium

Well today's shave was set yesterday when I took the pic but I got a few things in I'll be itching to try. They were on my mind for tomorrow or Saturdays shave the whole time I was shaving. Anyway on to today's shave. Had to break out SBSW since it's working it's way around the Cadre and got me wanting to revisit them as well. The new thing for the shave was the Gillette Rubie blade recommended by brother TJ and boy so far am I glad I listened to him and picked up 100 of these baby's. Nice and sharp as well as smooth. We'll see how they do going forward and how long they last but I may have found a new favorite to join GSB and PolSilvers. VERY close shave on the day and a half of growth. Time for dinner so behave while I'm gone. Have a great evening Cadre !!

Nice setup! I'll have to look into the Rubies. I see them mentioned from time to time but don't think I have ever tried them.

Nice shave! Just missing the bear skin rug to curl up by the fire with your shave gear ?

I have a Rubie going now as well—great blade for me so far. Six shaves in and going strong. Used in both a NEW LC and Piccolo.
