Razor: Rockwell 6s Plate 5

Blade: Gillette Rubie (3)

Brush: Razorock 400 Noir Synthetic

Soap: Vintage Williams Tonsorial

Aftershave 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla

Aftershave 2: Pinaud Reserve Whiskey Woods

Saw Chris (GearNoir) did a lather with some Williams and thought I keep forgetting to get mine soaking to hydrate the old thing. Quickly snapped a pic and got it soaking while I keep reading the forum before work. I never bloom soap but see others and knew what I needed to do with the bloom water. A I added the water to my face I thought man this is slick water. The soap to my surprise lathered with ease and got a nice cushiony and SLICK lather. The lather reminded me of the same I get from CBL soaps. Not as voluminous as others but thick enough and with all the properties you need for top notch shave especially the slickness........did I mention how slick this was. Man between pass 1 and 2 when rinsing I was AMAZED at the slickness on my face. I wouldn't have had to lather again but had a bunch of lather to put to use. Scent ?.................it smells like soap but I didn't really pay attention to the scent as I was focused on the other properties of the soap. Topped it all off with the Whiskey Woods. After using all 3 scents now, out of the 3 Reserve scents from Pinaud in order of preference is Whiskey Woods, Gents Gin and then Brandy Spice but all 3 are nice and have a place with me in the den. Pic heavy including a pic of lather on face of final pass and a KJ and NurseDave inspired complete final pass with no rinse of razor pic. Have a great day and week Cadre !!

Very Nice! I have only tried Williams a few times and only the Modern. Didn't work out well for me...but I didn't soak it or anything. KJ scent me a puck of some Vintage and I am determined to use that at some point. Just waiting for something...not sure what. Great shave today Dave and great Pics!

That Paladin with the Eagle style handle looks awesome. I see that there's one of those in black available on his website - I'm tempted! Got to sell some stuff first.

Don - the modern Williams is nothing, and I mean NOTHING like the vintage stuff. Stop waiting around and go ahead and use that vintage puck that KJ sent - tomorrow would be a good day for that! We look forward to reading about it.

So this is the thing now? I'm going to have to actually use that Williams puck that's in the back of the drawer somewhere?

Great shave Dave! I thought you were planning to use it for prep like me lol...now I may just follow your suit and try a shave!

Yes, yes you do. Williams is the new CBL. (Just kidding Chris).

Thanks Don, I was waiting til I had a vintage backup before using one. I'm good to go now. Have 1 semi-vintage and 1 vintage besides the vintage I started using. Gotta get a lid for that mug now though.

Please buy it, it is haunting me as I was going to get it but had the butterscotch and saw the ebony PK-47 on their discount page so opted for it for variety, but that Ebony Moe is sharp looking !!
All caught up and enjoyed the read from the weekend!
Thanks Chad, I appreciate the reads and comment knowing how busy you are.

I don't remember scenting the puck I gave you...... what does it smell like?

Also..... modern pucks must be soaked if you want good performance out of them. Vintage pucks do not need soaking. Just wash off any age prior to using them!

I had a pedestal sink when I was deployed to Africa. It sucked. And I was still using foam and cart back then. I’m sorry for anyone that has to deal with that. Your new sink looks awesome! Hope you get to swap it out soon!

That’ll be epic! I’m in about the same situation with my pedestal sink too. ?
Didn't realize you had one too. Thought I was all alone in my grief, Thanks

Thanks KJ. Just a matter of a faucet selection and a little time. Bonus to space around the sink itself, is more storage under too !!

Oh...look who is a funny guy! Yeah...when I get on a roll and start typing I end up with mistakes. That is why I should read everything I write!

Dave...the new sink is definitely and upgrade...now the master can work his masterpiece!

Razor: Rockwell 6s Plate 5

Blade: Gillette Rubie (4)

Brush: Paladin 26 mm Ebony PK-47

Soap: Paladin Silk Road

Aftershave 1: Thayers Lavender

Aftershave 2: Avon Island Lime

So a new to me scent but I have used the quality Paladin soaps before and again was not disappointed. Scent noes are Vetiver, Lavender and Anise. Smells good to me, nice clean and crisp. Had a very enjoyable shave. do have pimples around my mouth where the stupid cpap mask rests and lobbed 1 off nicely with the sharp Rubie blade. Bleeding like a stuck pig. Let me tell you now the Proraso repair gel is useless as far as I'm concerned. Doesn't stop the bleeding and makes a dry gel mess of the tissue paper.................that's right tissue paper. Can't remember the last time I had to use it for blood letting stoppage. All that aside, I'm smooth as can be sans the divet I took out. Topped things off with some Lavender Thayers and Island Lime. Feeling like I can use VERY liberally with the recent acquisition of some more as backup now. Have a great evening Cadre !!
