Bourbon Country Shave Journal - Dave in KY

I found it in the app settings and it works.
Can you do the foreign sites with the app? Or is it website only?

Nevermind ... I found it in the settings.
I haven’t wondered about that before, but you’ve got me curious. I’d expect that it’s probably website only, though I think @Dragonsbeard would be able to properly answer it.

Best and easiest way is Google in French ebay. Then I went in and signed up with email and password. You can also add translation so it''s in English. In fact I went on it this morning looking for a Gibbs as Dave in KY asked me to keep my eyes open for a Gibbs. I found 3 of them and they are not cheap but still half of what they want on our ebay. Same can be done with Germany, England, Italy and other countries that have ebay.

2020 Shave # 14 ( 434 Consecutive Shaves )
Razor: Gibbs Adjustable Setting 4.5
Blade: Polsilver (2)
Brush: Paladin 26mm Highrise Beehive Disco
Soap: CBL Tonsorial Fresh Lime 3017 (14)
Aftershave 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla
Aftershave 2: Nivea 2 into 1 Splash
Fragrance: Tom Ford Grey Vetiver

So shave #14 today with CBL Fresh Lime knocks out another from the list of entrants guessing how long to finish the soap or Dave Pif. Tub weighs 89 grams now after today's shave all in (tub, lid and soap) Last shave with the Gibbs and it is all cleaned, polished and ready to ship to @Dragonsbeard Thanks Frank for the chance to use this Gem. Not a mindless shaver like the Rockwell 6s but as smooth as can be and efficiency is off the charts. With a little attention you get shaves that have dolphins laughing at @NurseDave 's dolphins. It really does surprise me and if I can find a pretty one like this for @$100 it's all over. There's the rub as with all the buzz about the Heritage clone it has drawn attention to this gem and prices are higher than I'm willing to go but who knows. A deal/steal may show up eventually. Soldiering thru with the head cold (?) and a long day today. Have a great day Cadre !!

2020 Shave # 15 ( 435 Consecutive Shaves )
Razor: Enoch
Blade: Schick Proline (1)
Brush: Stirling Boar
Soap: CBL Tonsorial Fresh Lime 3017 (15)
Aftershave 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla
Aftershave 2: Avon Island Lime
Fragrance: Penhaligon's Bayolea

Shave 15 on the 3017 is in the books...........................well the internet anyway. Stirling Boar on 1st shave without a shed hair. Will it never shed another hair? Nah, it probably will but we are getting there. Softening up but not to where I WANT to reach for it yet but we're getting there too.

Today the spotlight was on the Enoch razor from John @The Monkey I was going to borrow the razor until John gave his thoughts on it and I recoiled as we had similar thoughts on similar razors before. When he started the pass around I thought, just give it a try. Today I tried. Fit and finish is acceptable for the price point. It's an attractive razor and feels good in the hand. Loading the blade was easy. Whoa that is a healthy looking blade gap and exposure............no worries, let's give it a try. 1st several strokes and I'm thinking this feels good and not near as aggressive as it looked and it's not. I did have a couple strokes where I could tell I lost the feel of the blade and therefore lost the cutting too. Careful not to over compensate as you'll REALLY feel the blade. I felt like it was easy to find the right angle and get a nice shave but it was just as easy to lose the angle and not cut or worse yet BITE easily..........and it did in a couple spots on my chin. Nothing serious but after a single shave I know I could have just passed after hearing John's thoughts on the razor...................................who am I kidding, I had to try it. But I enjoy the more mindless easy shaves with the Vector which is just as EFFICIENT (there I said it 🤪 ) or more so. John, I thank you for your generously sharing a new to the market razor to try. Sticking with the Vector. 2 more in here but only one I'll take for a spin bt may wait a day or 2 and use the 6s till skin is ready for another tester. Have a fun filled day Cadre !!!

How do you compare it to the RX?
Hard to remember but the RX is a more refined razor compared to the Enoch. Better craftsmanship if you will. Rx just felt better made with more heft. Enoch was easier to load a blade and is lighter but still has heft. Both seem similar in that you can get a good shave but it's just waiting to bite you for inattention which causes me to hold back and not get as close a shave.
