Bourbon Country Shave Journal - Dave in KY

Sorry to hear about the visit from Mr. Murphy, but otherwise sounds like a solid shave!

Chris and you are inspiring me to be adventurous and I'm not quite sure if it's a good thing or not yet

Good stuff Dave. And those Karve razors are getting a lot of press lately. They are beautiful that's for sure! Bites from the Feather are so easy to have happen. Sorry I missed your shave yesterday!

Thanks for reading and commenting. No need for apologies. Everyones busy. I've been caught up in the newness and excitement here and should spend a little less time here and get some things around the house done......but this is more fun.

Oh my honey-do list is growing exponentially I swear. Most of it is to be done outside so I know once the fall weather sets in I am going to be put to work!

Razor 1: CB Karve Plate "C"
Blade: Israeli Red Personna (6)
Brush: Yaqi 24mm Synthetic
Soap: DG Bon Vivant
Aftershave 1: Humphrey’s Alcoholado Maravilla
Aftershave 2: Aqua Velva

Just a quick 2 pass shave for this evening. A more relaxed shave for the day tomorrow morning.

Razor: Timeless .68 OCSH
Blade: Pol Silver SI (14)
Brush: Rubberset 400 Maggard Synthetic Knot
Soap: WWSC Teddy
Aftershave 1: Thayers Cucumber
Aftershave 2: Vintage Old Spice

Nice Shave again with my Timeless. Of all the razors I've used over the years I get my closest and longest lasting shaves from this one. I don't reach for the WWSC enough. Teddy is a great scent and I need to pick out some others to try of theirs because it is a great soap. the brush I like the feel of but the Knot, not so much. May need to replace it down the road again. Vintage old spice, Man I should use this more. Takes me back to 1980 when I was first shaving and this is what I used because it's what my dad used even though he wasn't in the picture. I guess it was a way for me to feel a connection even though there wasn't one. I haven't used modern OS as I still have a couple bottles (Different sizes they put out) of the vintage so I can't compare. Good juice for sure.

Hope all the Cadre has a wonderful and relaxing weekend !!

The modern OS, is similar, but way different in my opinion. I’ve got enough stock of vintage to last me, so don’t need to worry about using the modern ever again. It is lovely stuff, that does take you back.

Good shave Dave. Excellent photo!

Old Spice was my first cologne back in the 80s, given to me by my dad. I’d be tempted to get some, but it’s a scent the missus has said she does not appreciate.

Then it’d be a good scent for you to use when she is away, something special, just for you!
