What Fragrance Did You Use Today?

Le Galion - Special for Gentlemen
This is so old school that my grandpa would have called it old school. Apparently it shares a lot with Mouchoir de Monsieur one of the early dandy fougeres from the early 20th century.
Super aromatic lavender with undertones of castoreum, the opening blast is so aromatic and medicinal that it’s almost psychedelic. The lavender never leaves but is joined by that animalic note that gives it that old old school vibe, a bit of sweetness also accompanies via vanilla. Eventually are really wonderful amber like accord develops that also brings in opoponax that keeps it very unique and classy.
This stuff is wonderful when the thermometer dips below freezing.

Parle Moi de Parfum - Wake Up World
Such a wonderful good cheer scent. Dihydromyrcenol, a synthetic lavender aromachemical Gives it a sort of quirky character. It’s a bit powdery but in an unusual sharp way. In the opening it’s paired with an apple note that’s just super uplifting, then in the dry down it’s more of an amber flavor alongside the ever present Dihydromercenol.
This is super versatile in that it works in any season or weather as long as you want that burst of quirky cheer.
Apparently this is a revamp of an old Paloma Picasso fragrance Minotaur. It does have a retro feel, making me think of the likes of Ted Lapidus pour Homme, but it’s somehow updated and feels rooted in today, and also clearly is using quality ingredients and blending, so there’s no cheapie feel to it.
One of the best the house has to offer.
