As an employee of a certain Chicago-based liquor company, I can confirm that as Kirkland bourbon is distilled in Tennessee, it is not Beam distillate. Honestly can't speak definitively on the rum.
While reading an old cocktail book earlier this year, I found a recommendation to mix equal parts both dry and sweet vermouth to make a "perfect Manhattan." Can confidently say this is my preferred way to mix a Manhattan now. Topped with a couple Luxardo cherries and it's near perfection in a glass.
