Picked up this awesome Shaving Mug/Scuttle and Brush from a local Facebook Marketplace seller. They are both made of pewter, luckily the kind that has no lead in it. As far as I can tell from googling. the brush dates to around 1927!? If anyone knows more about pewter, I'd love to know.
The mug has a few scratches and a little bit of pitting, but for the most part it is in wonderful condition.
The mug is absolutely gigantic! Here it is compared to an Old Spice Mug.

The brush is a real surprise, it has a little pitting on one side that should come out with the buffer and a small ding on the base. I thought for sure it's knot was a goner, but once I had it in my hands, I found it to be solid. I've already washed it 3 times with dove soap, shampoo and conditioner. It seemed almost unused and only lost 8 hairs though the cleaning process. I can't imagine it is from 1927, but maybe??? I think I'll use it for my next shave. It has a nice pure/best badger and it smells fine, no wet dog smell at all.

I have a tin of WSP mahogany that looks like that. Got my used from a BST listing, though. Obviously doesn't affect the soap, but a real bummer to receive something like that new from a store. Did you reach out to them, let them know?

Just sent an email showing it and saying I was disappointed in it. What's annoying is whoever packed it knew it with 2 big dings and it came in an undamaged priority box...........Like you said it doesn't effect the soap but.......we all like our pictures for SOTD and not a cheap soap either.

I'm floored he told me he'd give me a credit for the total amount...........I asked if he could just send me the T&S Himalaya soap and I would pay shipping and that he was doing more than necessary. Before he responded I received an email saying the soap was being shipped.. I then received an email from him telling me "No Charge" and have a good weekend. I honestly didn't expect anything and am floored by his response......Kudos to Pastuer's and I'll be spending more at their online store in appreciation for his going above and beyond.

Yes, I still have it. Knew that’s what you were referencing. But this was handy and soap, like what you posted.

Yes, Steve, I’ve used it once. I think this could be my best razor. Time will tell. Shave #2 coming up tonight. I’m going to take some Flitz & start polishing it.
