Did light cleaning on these two from the 8.18.2020 Lot.
-Dubl Duck Satin Wedge
-Pearl Dry, by Schmidt and Company St. Louis, MO, made in Solingen. This one looks suspiciously like a Dubl Duck, I wouldn’t doubt if it was made by them.

So Tim @MilkCrate surprised me with the little package today and I appreciate him thinking of me. Included was Captain's Choice Venture soap and splash samples and also a sample of Proraso Red splash. I've tried venture before so I'll put those two samples into a pif I'm putting together and looking forward to trying the proraso red splash. Thanks for the surprise Tim, much appreciate it!

Well, they're longer, as they're designed to be wrapped around the face. My initial impression is that they're very soft and densely woven, compared to the generic hand towel I was using. It's a good quality towel $18 for 3.

No such thing as a stupid question. It’s a rally chronograph...or “drivers” chronograph. So left hand stays on the steering wheel, right hand shifts. Unless you’re in Europe where they drive on the opposite side. In short the chrono function and split time function is actuated with the right hand so the controls are opposite. In rally racing the navigator is holding a clipboard with a map and calling turns by time and distance. Also easier for them with the watch configured as it is. Or if you’re left handed and don’t do any of the above...it’s a left handed watch!!!

Cadre, this has been an insane week for acquisitions.... Yard sales yielded some gold today!

Hofferitz case with a Hofferitz razor? It is only marked, Germany

The two razors side by side for comparison, not sure if they are both Hofferitz for sure.


LASTLY, the last five razors from the 8.18.2020 lot showed up. Long story short, the seller tried to steal 5 Wostenholm straights, thinking I wouldn’t notice them missing when I looked through the lot. After some tense conversations, he shipped them to me. So, it was a good week.

@Fenster I also have a Nixon with the stem on the left side. They said it was done that way because it’s a bigger watch and the knob won’t push into the back of your hand when it’s flexed.
