WOW! No talk about Andor? I am shocked! Or maybe I just missed the chit chat about it. I need to stop listening or reading critiques of shows and movies, because I nearly didn't watch this one.

Watched the first four episodes of Andor and I am VERY impressed. It feels a bit darker than the others they have put out lately and I love it! Story is developing nicely. If you haven't watched it and are a fan...or not...of the Star Wars - iverse, then I highly recommend it.
Actually sat down to watch the first ep last night. It’s had an OK start. Looking forward to seeing how it develops! I think the only thing I haven’t liked is that it feels like to keep a secret/intrigue element they talk around subjects a lot, so it feels a bit forced.

Loved Rogue One though, so I’m in for the long haul.

I watched the first 3 episode of Endor, and I see nothing wrong with it. Slow to start sure, but most series do. It's definitely building.

Rings of Power-I do not like. I find it incredibly boring, and everything the Silmarillion is not. The stuff they could have done on a grand scale with Morgoth, the silmarils, High Elves, Beren and Luthien, you name it. The dragons were badass, Balrog generals led the armies in the field, they had a freaking giant spider that consumed the light of the world. Dear God, man, it’s all there! Instead I get some contrived halfling origin story, let alone a seemingly contrived Mordor origin story.

The Fall of Numenor was the original Game of Thrones. You could set the whole thing there. Fëanor and his vengeance obsession. Eärendil sailing the seas of the sky.

No. I do not like it Sam I Am.

Thanks for the warning Bob!

Finished the first season of She-Hulk last night. Overall a great start, different from the usual Marvel stuff, but fun. The finale’s not-really-a-surprise team up was a bit hasty and forced but I’m also glad to see that character back in action! Unlike Ms Marvel, which I think should stay in the realm of TV episodes, due to acting level unfortunately, I hope She-Hulk gets incorporated into the movie franchise. I think she’d fit great in the next phase. Looking forward to seeing where it goes next!

Also got into the 3rd episode of Andor a couple days ago. Now things are kicking off…finally! Good way to develop and take the story, good action, less stiff, less forced secrecy, and a good dose of intrigue. I hope they keep the momentum!

Absolutely outstanding. As true to the comics as I could hope.
I really enjoyed Sandman. A LOT! I never read the comics but I am a huge fan of Neil Gaiman. The show just had a "feel" to it that really appealed to me.

Haven't watched last nights episode yet (doing that tonight), but Andor is really good. It seems that they put a lot of effort and money into this episode. Other Star War endeavors often have a "hokie-ness" to it. Even the Mandalorian (which I love), has a bit of a hokie feel to it. Andor seems like it could be real. It's a bit gritty too. That I like.

I agree I almost gave up on it, but it is really getting good

Watched the latest episode of Andor. It's good...but it is a set up episode. Some new facets of the "Rebellion" are shown. As well as some for the Empire.

I think from the Tolkien fans I am in the minority - I like the show, but I can see for those that prefer it to be true the canon that it would disappoint. My issue was it was slow building up to who some of the characters were and like you - the Harfoots are like the Ewoks and Jar Jar Binks wrapped up in one annoying package (I felt the same of the LOTR movies with Sam Gamgee - that guy could cry on command - not becoming of Rudy 😂).

But I do like Galadriel and Sauron were fairly true to the story. I think that the issue is that Amazon only owns the rights to the LOTR - and not anything else - like the Silmarillion - so they have to go on what’s in the footnotes and appendices for the LOTR books for anything in the Second Age. I guess inflation impacts even Amazon - a billion dollars just doesn’t go as far as it used to. Back in my day - for a Billion dollars you could get the Hobbit, LOTRs, the Silmarillion, The Children of Hurin, and they’d throw in Aaron Judge to boot in case you to have a nice baseball side story instead of inventing origin stories of hobbits. Oh well 😂

If you want a good spoof of it - look up Charlie Hopkinson on YouTube. He does voice impressions - but uses deep fake technology to look like some of the LOTR characters critiquing the ROP. 😂

News flash! Cavill gets one more seasons as Geralt and then the ol main actor switcheroo will be pulled, putting Liam Hemsworth in his place. 😮
