TV Shows

I have been watching and enjoying the first 3 episodes. Though I have watched the LOTR/Hobbit movies more than once, I am not a superfan so when the story or characters vary from the original writings, I probably won't notice or mind.

We finished up what we have been watching so this weekend we went on a hunt for a new streamable series. Ended up binging Uncoupled starring Neil Patrick Harris this weekend. 8 short adult themed episodes. Entertaining and I hope they make a 2nd season. Then tonight we tried Murderville and only made it about 10 minutes into the first episode before turning that one off. Made it 2 episodes into The Bear. So far other than the tension caused by so much yelling in the show it’s okay. We’ll see where it goes.

Watched the first episode of Halo on Paramount Plus last night. Not saying this show will win any Emmy Awards or anything. But it's a nice action series that you don't have to think a lot about.

Love the Blade Runner universe! I’d much prefer watching this to Altered Carbon.
WHAT? I was P-O'd when Alter Carbon got cancelled. Honestly, I haven't got up to speed on the Blade Runner Stuff. I mean I watched the original. I was intrigued by the Black Lotus series, just never got around to it.

I can‘t keep up with everything - I didn’t know there was a Blade Runner Universe - I knew there was a Marvel Universe, A DC Universe, but there is a BR Universe?
Original movie, Black Lotus (Japanese - American anime series) & BR 2049

I enjoyed the concept and most of the first season, but I felt the story became super convoluted and lackluster heading into the second.

What Brian said, but I meant “universe” in more of a general way too…the conceptual life of the work - story, setting, lore, continuity, feel, etc. The way you might think of the LOTR “universe” without necessarily meaning the books or films…as a mostly realized concept.
Which one is the best? My dad loved the original - with Harrison Ford - I have to admit - that I didn’t see any of them
The OG is iconic and still the best for sure. I have the Collector’s Edition. Very worth it IMO.

Well I say that the 80’s was the Golden Age of Movies and TV Shows….except for the clothes and hair styles…….but it still beats out the 1970’s and to some extent now - since the latest generations want to bring those back……If I see bell bottoms - I think that it will be the last straw.

You're right. Hit the peak at Alf and that was that.

WOW! No talk about Andor? I am shocked! Or maybe I just missed the chit chat about it. I need to stop listening or reading critiques of shows and movies, because I nearly didn't watch this one.

Watched the first four episodes of Andor and I am VERY impressed. It feels a bit darker than the others they have put out lately and I love it! Story is developing nicely. If you haven't watched it and are a fan...or not...of the Star Wars - iverse, then I highly recommend it.
