TV Shows

Tales from the Loop
I have really wanted to watch this. However...
The series is also heartbreakingly tragic in several of its stories. It was amazing to watch it, but I may not give it a second viewing. It is really heavy.
I have a hard time doing TV shows with heartbreaking tragedy right now. In my 20s and 30s I was all about well written produced film that would just rip out your heart. Then...seeing some real bad stuff in my life...I decided I don't want my entertainment to make me feel sad and depressed.
The Boys season 2. It's gonna be an interesting weekend. Hope no dolphins where harmed
Going to try to watch a few episodes of this show this weekend!

Cobra Kai

the Haunting of Hill House

Both on Netflix. I think I saw some chatter on at least one of these early in the thread. I’ll just say both are done well. I’m picky about what I watch so for me, both highly recommend if you like their genres.

The missus and I are going through that right now too. Fun fan service for Karate Kid lovers!
Man, it’s a “love letter” to us karate kid fans.... fantastic! I would love if my wife would watch but too much language and violence for her liking.... but I’m pretty sure I have a gift card for karate lessons coming my way for my birthday next month 🥋

I thought this was a VERY well done series. I really enjoyed it!

I'll get to this one eventually. Though I have to admit...I am about ready to get rid of Netflix. Not happy with some of the decisions they have mad. Too political for here though.
I agree. We dropped Netflix for part of 2019/2020 ...Too much politics in Tv / movies now a days in general....the wife and I watched “the money Pit” Recently, with Tom Hanks from the 80’s. Not much plot, not much story, but we could just check out and laugh without rolling our eyes, Without taking notes to follow the poorly written story, without fast forwarding unnecessary language or sex, etc. unlike most stuff today. Today’s writers could take a lot of notes from the movies of yesteryear. 🤷‍♂️

We finished Space Force. Um...it had a few laughs but overall that was pretty stupid show.

Went through the Vikings saga. I’m interested to see how it all ends in the final releases...it’s been a wild ride.

Watching Bosch again. Get it? Only seasons 2-6. Season 1 is kinda gruesome in many ways, so we seam to bypass it and go straight to season 2. Isn't streaming great? :)

Watching "The Vow" on HBO right now. It's about a sex cult (sort of) that caught up some people in the entertainment business. It follows a group called NXIVM (pronounced Nexium like the OTC PPI). Episodes are being released weekly and I think it is through episode four. But man I am hooked! My wife actually followed this group when they were in the news years ago so she knows a good bit about it. For some reason, I guess I missed it. If documentaries or docuseries are your thing...I think most will find this interesting!

All SciFi should be this well written and produced.
I loved Tales from the Loop. I love how each episode was seperate and can stand on it's own, yet there are aspects of the larger plot that weave in and out. Especially how the ending of the last episode explains something that happens in the first episode.... a "Mind Blown" moment.
I don't want my entertainment to make me feel sad and depressed.
Honestly I didn't find it depressing at all.
