Tom's Journal about Shaving and other good stuff

Glad the move went smoothly Tom...nice picture as well! Hopefully the General shows up sooner than later!

Sorry to hear you had to go through yet another move, but I know it was for the best or you would not have done it. I have been hankering to get a motorcycle for some strange reason this summer. Nothing serious, but just a hankering. I had to get a new battery for my ATV, and when I was there I was checking out some used 1200 Sportsters. Thinking that would make a good starting bike, light weight (as Harley's go), with a balsy engine.

Trying to help find lemonade in moving twice in such rapid succession. At least all the junk will have been filtered out! We've been in this house almost 10 years and are still pitching stuff from our previous house where we were for 15. Plus all of Mom and Dad's stuff. Dang! I want to have my Miata in a garage this winter!

So good news. I finally found my General razor and my Kent comb! If I told you where I left it, y'all will just shake their heads. It was one of the last things I packed and for some reason I left them in the bag with a lot of cords/chargers which I didn't have to go through until a few days ago. Man - this is a relieve and can't wait to shave with it again. It's like meeting up with an old friend.

Shaving wise - I have been rotating my DEs and have been doing pretty well. I did have an awesome BBS shave but then had a brain fart while flipping the razor too close to my chin and gave myself a small nick the other day.

Personal news wise - my brother got married last Saturday and my wife spent the last week being their pseudo wedding planner. Everything went well but I ended up with laryngitis and a cold. My throat got so bad that I couldn't properly speak until Tuesday. My voice is still a bit raspy though but feeling 100% better. I'll see if I can post some pics. So stay tuned.

Didn't this sort of thing happen on your last move?

Thanks y'all for catching up on my shenanigans.

Here are the pics I promised awhile ago.

So on the shave front, I've been using some Tabac goodness a few days in a row. I know variety is the spice in life but there is something about consistency that makes me happy too. The only varying aspects have been alternating between my trusty General and Razorock Slant - both leaving me with a DFS or BBS each time.

On the homefront, we have been baking and cooking a lot more. Here is a snapshot of some home made apple pie!

Another note is that we booked our Fall/Winter vacation where we will be in France for two weeks for our anniversary and Thanksgiving. So a lot of prep needs to go into that. Stay on the lookout for some shaving items since I need more vacation funds. Not sure what I'll post but I promise it'll have some cool stuff. LOL

Unfortunately I dont think we can get a full pie to my Bingle Buddy but we'll see.... Should be a fun time and I already have a few ideas in mind, especially from the non shaving front.

Fantastic pics, Tom! That apple pie looks delicious. It's that time of year, and I might need to do some baking soon.

Great pix, Tom!

Where in France? And I can't wait to see how many jars of MdC you bring back!
