This is true, but I need something a little less aggressive as well.And the Karve is headed his way although I think he's having a love affair with the Variant at this point.
I am gonna easily be able to sit this one out. I just was not all that impressed by the Tell Tale Heart set Dave pif'ed me. I like it scent wise but the performance falls a tad short of almost everything else i really like

Well, for anyone who is interested, here is an Instagram photo confirming the theme of the set.
Exclusivity is actually a great thing for a brand. While it may not be for everyone...it will garner a loyal following and as long as they keep their numbers low and prices high...the will always do well...unless they do something stupid.
That design is absolutely wicked. I would love to get a set...and I have no idea what the scents are going to be yet. That being said...I have my limits on what I can spend...for now.

I am a huge enthusiast of Victorian fiction and also the history of Jack the Ripper, so Jekyll and Hyde was always one of my favorite tales. This design had me hooked from the moment I saw the teasers.

I get that it will garner a following and be a huge success for THB because people want to feel like they are part of an exclusive club. Maybe I am weird, but this business method just leaves me feeling cold because I have to pay exorbitant prices and be up at midnight ready and able to click on the buy link before someone else can in order to be part of this exclusive club. More than likely the outcome will be that I do not get my order placed in time and I miss out. I don't like feeling left out, like the kid chosen last for games at recess, so I choose not to chase limited editions or exclusive releases.
I would rather support a brand that caters to a wide audience with good products that are generally available and easy to acquire.
But to leave this on a positive, upbeat note:
I hope that all of the Cadre members who want this are able to get it, and I hope that it is an elite tier product for all of you. Good luck!

I can totally understand your perspective on this. On the flip side, I actually got hooked on The Holy Black through their "everyday" products that are available on their site. The exclusives for me are more like icing on the cake... ICING THAT I MUST HAVE!!! LOL
I definitely feel bad for those who miss out when they really want it. In fact, my plan is to buy two so that someone who really wants it can get it, especially if they can't make the midnight release. I personally prefer the midnight release because I know I will be able to be online at that moment, unlike a midday release where I may be working.
But it's definitely a personal preference.

This is definitely a negative to this type of marketing. But exclusivity is really nothing new. I used to work at a jewelry store that sold high end and luxury jewelry. One of the watch brands we sold were Patek Philippe watches. The watches are really a work of art. Believe me...if money is no object, there is a time piece they have that I would die to get my hands on...it's just a couple hundred thousand dollars...that's all. So even among those who collect and purchase luxury watches...Patek Philippe is still the exclusive among the exclusive. There will always be those that are left out...but that business model generates hype...sometime warranted...sometimes not. Either way...it s serving them well.
