The Heysi Missive

Ok....so, I was chatting with our fine smelling friend, @GearNoir about British sterling and what scent it is when he offered to send me a sample he had that he wasn't using. I thanked him and he offered to throw in a "few others" for me to try.

Well, this is what showed up today...

....dude....that is beyond generous. There must be 25+ different samples!!! And the 3 CBL soaps is like a super bonus. My hats off to you, good sir. I'll never match your generosity but I'll at least smell nearly as great as you do. Thank you so much, brother. I owe you a fine adult beverage the next time I'm coming through SB.

Enjoy! I hope everything made it in one piece with few leaks? Some of those bottles were iffy.
 
i'm sure he'll be back in time for Christmas! My mailman is very careful now i have one of those swiveling cameras outside - he makes sure to stamp on the boxes in the back of his truck out of sight! i wasn't sure what was going on at first as that parked mail van was bouncing around like that.

Some nice gear there.

Years ago, not too soon after college graduation, my wife, then fiancée and I went to a wedding of a couple friends who are high school sweethearts and ended up sitting at a table alongside the ex-girlfriend I dated for 2 years in high school and the first year of college. They did NOT get along and I felt like I was sitting in a scene stripped straight from the movies...:LOL:

So the 2022 baseball regular season has ended. My Dodgers came away with a record of 111-51. Only 3 teams in history have won more games in a season. I'm excited for the postseason. Game 1 starts on Tuesday, October 11th. 11 more wins to become the champs. Lets Go DODGERS!!!

Shave Journal:

After something like 150 days, I finally used a fresh, brand new, never been used before blade. Almost forgot how effortless shaving could be. I know that getting the most out of a blade is a good goal but I think somewhere around 45 or 50 is where the blades I'm using lose their effectiveness. The experiment continues.

My CBL Hombres soap is about as thin as you can get. May be starting on a new soap by this time next week. Nearly 6 months of shaves with the same soap. That's great value. A big thank you to @CBLindsay . I now have 3 soaps that I can use everyday. I will be ordering more of the Hombres. I'm not sure what soap will be up next. Maybe I can get reader feedback on what I should choose. I'll post photos of what I have and let you all decide.

Getting a nice list of names for my brushes. I'll have to start posting photos with the names as I finalize the list. The things you think of while you're shaving......

Decided to try a new cologne from the sample box that @GearNoir sent me....and since @NurseDave made a request (he's my biggest fan).....I used the Bad Boy cologne. Interesting scent. It says its "peppery" and that would certainly check out as what comes to my mind. But since I've put the cologne on, I was less than friendly with the cashier at the gas station. Instead of replying when she said, "have a nice day" I simply grunted. Then I tossed my receipt on the back seat of my car instead of in the trash can. I also didn't signal when I left the parking lot. The cologne has really done something to me. I may stop using punctuation at any moment .

Hombres only avail at the shop. As we are working on a new iteration Will send you some with the brush. Pm me to discuss what you need
 
That’s OK remember Chris made it for my shop so I have plenty, well not plenty, but I have enough
