Nice gear, Ed. And topped off with Acqua di Parma! (y)
You know I am really loving the ADP. I have the Colonia and Essenza and I know there are many other ones out there as @GlazedBoker can testify to but these two though similar are just different enough. Love them and would at some point love to try the shaving cream and AS if it didn't instantly scare me stiff with the price tag! :cautious:

I found that I'm grabbing my ADP more and more. There's just something about it that fits summer perfectly.

Happy Friday Cadre! I have been venturing farther away from the Kami lately so today with a little time freed up in the schedule I reached for it. I have given up on the guard blades as the Feather Pro Guard seems harsh on the face and the Pinks like tiny piranha are ripping the stubble out. So I have switched to the Schick ProLine AC blades which are my favs amongst the SE razors I have. Smooth but I now understand why you need to a. Not push through things as @woodpusher says and b. Keep moving as @BarberDave says...sounds confusing? It’s the middle ground between a small “racing stripe” or “face sushi”....I got two tiny ones that match in exactly the same spot on EITHER side of my face!

Soap of the day RazoRock Gold with the matching AS! Which if you really want to know is on sale as a set from Italian Barber. Leather, citrus, amber goodness right there!

I got through THREE passes with the Kami and I could have quit after one and 1/2 but NO! I watched @bentheduck Weck his face off and everyone else straight razor their chops to BBS bliss so I was going to do it! I did! It’s BBS glory! But damn I need a drink! That took WAY TOO MUCH CONCENTRATION! Enjoy your weekend Cadre! Stay safe and smooth!

Seriously guys I don’t know how you do it. I enjoy shaving which is a pretty telling statement because the Army beat that joy right out of me. Carts, against the grain, one pass with water. I love DE/SE! But man, the concentration (yes, I am a newbie) to get it done for me anyway is rough. New skill, using both hands. Anyway, I will master it with all the advice you guys are giving me...thanks a bunch!

Happy Sunday! It started off hot and muggy but we had a torrential downpour with some thunder and now we are sunny again!

Today’s razor of choice the Merkur 34C loaded up with a fresh Kai SS. After Friday’s Kami shave I wanted something much more relaxed. Though honestly, there wasn’t much for the 34C to do.

Southern Witchcrafts Peach was on deck for today and it truly is a wonderful dirty peach scent. Great vegan soap for sure. At some point I’d like to try more of their stuff but I am quite happy for now with this one.

Lovely two pass DFS/BBS shave achieved. Double spritz of B&BW Citron and ready for the afternoon and evening. Take care Cadre and enjoy your Sunday!

Happy Tuesday! It is a bit grey out but the temperature is nice and fresh out there with the heat building slowly ahead of some more rain tomorrow. Today’s razor the mighty Gillette Rocket HD 500. It was recommended by a friend over on the Shave Den forum who is an expert on Made in England Gillette. This one was quite minty, cased and at a good price. Love it and Gary was right it is an exceptionally good razor!

Today’s soap RazoRock Saturnia. I love jamming my beak in this tub I don’t know what is in it that smells so good but it is an awesome scent. Sulphur and Tuscan herbs apparently.

Lovely three pass BBS shave achieved and topped off with JV Dark Rebel for the win! Enjoy your shaves and stay safe.

Happy Thursday all! One day past mid-week yet not close enough to Friday and the weekend for my liking! Oh well angst aside we press on! 😂

I am a fan of what have been called “aggressive” razors and own a few...Blackland Dart, Timeless Bronze OC .78, Muhle R41 and the iKon Standard/Tech to name a few. I love them for what they are, keen destroyers of stubble. However, with a nice blade, a simple Gillette Tech can get it done no muss and no fuss. So today, I decided to reach for said razor(s) as I have a few. This one was gifted to me from a friend down in Texas who I started my wet shaving journey with and have quite a few of his razors in my collection. A true gentleman and a knowledgeable proponent of the wet shaving world. This one dates to 1938-45 complete with triangular slots in the base plate and the like. Loaded up with a fresh GSB.

Today’s soap RazoRock Nomad which is a lovely mix of creamy woods, spices and musk. Quite nice really though not what you would call a summer scent. I love to grab it whenever because the scent is really In my wheelhouse.

Three passes with a little buffing and BBS achieved. Always amazed at how well a simple Tech can mow it down. I will be going on a run of Techs. Topped it off with the matching AS and some B&BW Noir which is a great match. Take care folks and enjoy your shaves.

I hear the Sumo Paladin is an extremely comfortable handle. I assume you concur Ed ?
It is Dave quite a comfortable handle but I don’t know about the knot. I like fan knots for the most part and this bulb though am sure will begin to splay more as it breaks will need regular shave time to get there.
