@Spider you are King of Paladins you have any thoughts on fan vs bulb knots from them?
It's all in what you like. Any knot from Paladin is going to be great. If you prefer a fan, get a fan. I don't believe he does too many fans though, so it'll be trickier to find. But I'm coming to understand that most of his current knots are made actually to be somewhat between a bulb and a fan.

My preference will always be bulbs. I never liked the way fan brushes looked.

Thanks KJ. I’ll break it in and judge then. I guess my other brushes would be in between too because in looking at your Paladins, I was leaning more towards them being fan shaped. At least in my eyes.

I only have one Paladin, and probably only 3 brushes in total, that I would say have Fan knots.

Ok. Though I don’t know if you have one...when you look at a Simpson Chubby 1 or 2 do you say fan or bulb?

I don't, got rid of all my simpsons. Look it up on their site, and this is very much a bulb shape:

On the road of “mild” and nothing is quite as nice as a Gillette Blue Tip Super Speed. Loved the Tech shaves and really wanted to move on to the “trio” which is what I am doing here. This Blue Tip is from 1956 as is its Flare Tip and Red Tip brothers. Loaded up with a fresh GSB.

Soap or cream of the day is Gentleman’s Tonic Babassu and Bergamot from the UK. Think wonderful and clean “barbershop” and you’ve got the scent profile down. It is quite nice though one that doesn’t come up often in rotation. Time to change that. A little scooped out into the shaving bowl goes a long way and it is performs well though needs a bit of water to get there.

Lovely three pass BBS shave achieved and topped off with a double whammy favourite in Issey Miyake L’Eau D’Issey Pour Homme aftershave balm and EDT! Holy jumping! Epic shave on a Wednesday? Why not?! Take care, safe travels and enjoy your shaves!

Well I am of The North...so why not some CBL Iron Throne to start the day! I can’t get over this scent and the soap performs beautifully. I don’t have the scent notes for it but there are juniper berries in It with some smoke and subtle leather. You have to use your own nose for this one. It has a couple of cooling agents in there and they are just enough to throw a chill without any heavy menthol.

Continuing on with the trio today we have the 1956 Gillette Flare Tip Super Speed. Middle of the road between Blue and Red but a very fine shaver and the standard by which many a Super Speed was made. Loaded up with a Gillette Rubie.

Beautiful three pass BBS shave which was capped off with an icy blast of Duke Cannon Supply Co. Ice Cold Balm. A little Bvlgari Man to finish off and we are ready for Friday and the long weekend. August approaches....and of course Winter is Coming....
