A wet and rainy Sunday but it’s still Sunday! Continuing on with the trio and today’s razor is the 1956 Gillette Red Tip Super Speed. Love them each and they all have a place in the rotation but if I could only have one it would be the Red Tip.

Southern Witchcrafts Peach was the soap of the day. Very nice scent. The matching AS is a bit brighter scent wise and filled with skin food. Very, very nice.

Two pass DFS achieved and ready for a quick trip out to see my Dad and pick up a special mug for a fine member of the Cadre. Stay safe and dry!

Welcome to Thursday! Sunny and warm today after more than a few days of rain. Time to BBQ and get out on the back deck for some sun.

Today’s razor the Gillette Flare Tip Rocket made in England. This one is from 1959-61 and is in minty shape. Something so solid about the Brit Gillette razors. Smooth to open, hefty for those not made of aluminum and the plating and finish are superb. Loaded up with a fresh GSB.

Soap of the day Stirling Orange Chill which is mentholated citrus goodness. The matching AS is more of the same. I enjoy Margaritas in the Arctic quite a bit but this one is just a great scent.

Brush today is the RazoRock Chubby Extra and it’s a wall of pillowy soft badger. I believe these are house branded Zenith brushes. Exceptionally good brush and a seriously comfortable lather maker.

Lovely three pass shave and BBS achieved on this sunny Thursday. Topped off with some AdP Colonia to seal the deal. Enjoy the sun and your shaves!

Clean and simple on a Sunday is what I was looking for. Palmolive shave sticks are pretty awesome travellers, easy to use and small. Lovely clean barbershop scent is what I get from it. Nothing fancy just good. Takes nothing to lather really and is good for what it is.

Today’s razor an equally no fuss razor in the 1963 Slim. Pick a setting from mild to wild and have at it. Loaded up with a GSB and set to 3 on the dial. Nice and smooth.

Lovely two pass DFS achieved because the schedule is full and there is lots to do. Topped off with some vintage Palmolive Balsamo (from Spain) to match the scent of the shave and quick spritz of Guerlain L’eau Boisee and we’re good to go. Enjoy your Sunday and your shaves!

Whoa! Now Tuesday is a pretty average day in that the weekend is a close but fleeting memory and we are way too far from the next weekend. However, “epic” can still happen and today’s shave is a perfect example when all the right components fall into line it can go from “meh” to “wow” pretty quickly.

Razor of choice today the Merkur Progress set to 1 1/2 and loaded with a fresh Voskhod. The Voskhod is my reference blade and I put it in every new to me razor. I know what it can do and what it can’t and so I can tell pretty quickly if a razor is going to work for me or not because the blade “variable” has been removed from the equation. The Progress as with my Mergress is an exceptional razor with heft and good looks in abundance. Very rarely does it ever go past 2 on the dial. Smooth and comfortable.

Soap of the day RazoRock Black Bay which is just an awesome smelling soap. Great performer also but a little thirsty at times to dial in a really slick lather. No such issues today as the EJ synth had no issues whipping up lots of lather.

A brilliant three pass BBS shave achieved. Topped off with the matching Black Bay AS and a spritz of Guerlain Oud Essentiel ...WOW! That folks was an epic shave! Enjoy your day!

I think I need to know what Our Essential smells like!
Dave of all the Guerlain stuff I have it is my all out fav!
Voskhod (and Rapira Super Stainless) are my favorite blades.
I have a few tucks of the Rapira Platinum Lux and Swedish Steel I like them quite a bit. I might have a few of SS in a box...need to try them out.
