The last shave of 2019 so I wanted some good gear that I know would produce the goods! The Merkur Progress never disappoints and loaded with an Astra SP is a stellar combo!

Stirling Agar one the right in my books to be the New Years Eve shave....and yes, I jammed my beak in it about a dozen times before making the call! LOL

So a slow and wonderfully close, three pass BBS shave. Topped off with D&G The One!!! Happy New Year!! Off to dinner with the Bride!

Happy New Year to all! May this new decade bring you and yours joy, health and happiness. The only thing you can really give to anyone is time. Please, hug those you love, call those you haven’t in a while and go see those that live off the beaten path. Keep them close and love them lots!
 
Today’s razor the venerable Gillette Super Speed (40s style) but a 1953 to be exact. Love this razor but I have a British Aristocrat Junior from the same era that quite easily trumps this one. Loaded up with a Polsilver IR.

New Year and a whole new soap set. Sni Mato is quite a unique scent and though I like it quite a lot Mrs. S, can’t get around the “morning dew” component. In fact, she has replaced it with another rhyming three letter word. This is the first Declaration Grooming soap in the den and I have to say the Icarus base which is raved about by many is an exceptional soap. Bloomed it for a couple of minutes and the Yaqi SF whipped up just about the best lather I have had in a long, long time. Lovely stuff.

To work and through a lovely three pass BBS shave. Grabbed the matching CL post-shave toner and AS. Lovely scent and exceptionally nice on the face. All around this is a great combo. Think though I might pack it for the next time I hang with the wolves up North...enjoy the day!

You know, I always thought it was odd and maybe even a bit hypocritical to say one slang word for something is bad, but the other four slang words for the same thing are fine. 😜
 
I really enjoyed the Karve With the C SB plate last time out and wanted to try the OC plates this time. Today’s choice was the B OC. Loaded up with a fresh Gillette Nacet to give it a go with. I really like the look and feel of the Karve CB in brass with the 3” handle.

Grabbed my new $6 lathering bowl and dropped some Nivea shave cream into it to whip up a quick and easy lather. It’s affordable and it works really well. Clean scent and really only second to Gillette Pure when I travel.

The Karve B OC was a very comfortable shave over two passes and left me with a close BBS finish. The Nacets never disappoint and this razor has been phenomenal so far. Lots of plates still to try but the C SB and the B OC have been pretty stellar.

The two plates I have tried so far are perfect for me Dave pretty nice start to the Karve!

As for the bowl Chris that bowl does work a charm and I am going on a run of creams coming up more so to use some up than use the bowl :p
