Shave Time!

Quick entry tonight...

Razor: Rockwell 6C Plate 5
Blade: Parker (3?)
Brush: WWBW Jingle Silvertip
Soap: CFG GTB (2)(3017 started 1/1/19)
AS: Tiki Bar Soap The Captain ASB

Shave number 2 down on the GTB 3017. Another good one. Changed my usual approach up by doing 2 XTG passes on the neck instead of finishing ATG. Came out DFS with little irritation. Still went ATG on the cheeks, stache, and chin and came out BBS there. Overall a nice shave.

This Tiki Bar Soap (which I keep wanting to call Tiki Barber lol) has a decent menthol kick. In fact, it’s making my eyes water. Might need to use a little less next time lol.

I’m pretty tired tonight because I didn't sleep well last night for some reason. Maybe it’s the cold. Off to relax on the couch with Willie, the wife found Days of Thunder on one of the movie channels. I’m not a huge Tom Cruise fan, but I love this movie for some reason! Rubbin’s racin’ Harry!

Thursday Shave Time!

x2...

Razor: Rockwell 6c Plate #5
Blade: Parker (4)
Brush: WWBW Jingle Silvertip
Soap: GTB (3) 3017 started 1/1
AS: Stirling Wintergreen WH&Aloe

Thursday brought another solid shave with the Rockwell 6c.

The Stirling Wintergreen witch hazel and aloe smells exactly like a piece of Wintergreen gum. The menthol level is perfect for me. About as strong as the Tiki Bar Soap Captain, but it didn’t have the eye watering effect. But I’ll tell you what, my face was cold! The scent doesn’t last very long though, but I would assume that’s because it’s technically not an AS.

AS: Pinaud Clubman

Again the Rockwell delivers. Another solid BBS shave. Very little irritation on the neck. No irritation to be found elsewhere.

The Wild West Brushworks Silvertip is starting to break in nicely. I’m getting great face lathers out of it and the funk is almost completely gone. I gave it 2 overnight lather soaks and have been using it daily since. The only question I have is, is it ok to squeeze the water out of a badger brush? I usually shake it out and then give it a few squeezes (without pulling), but I read that this can cause shedding. What do you guys think?

I squeeze gently and NO pulling and then shake a couple times and a light towel strop

Winning combo of shaves! High mentholated products in winter though? Crazy man!

Yes some squeezing, flinging, stropping, etc is all OK for your brushes. As Dave says, gently is the key word.

Squeeze, then shake/fling, and done. That’s how I treat all my brushes.

KJ's a closet towel stropper, we've caught him

Indeed...it was even on video!

The description says it’s like being punched in the face by a snowman...it wasn’t far off from that lol.
