Shave Time!

Another double entry...

Shave #1
Razor: Razorock 6c Plate #3
Blade: Parker (6)
Brush: WWBW Jingle Silvertip
Soap: GTB (5) 3017 started 1/1
AS: Stirling Sharp Dressed Man

Solid shave on plate 3 with the Rockwell. Decided to go with a lesser plate as it had been less than 24 hours since my last shave. Not much to report, a solid DFS shave with little irritation. No complaints!

Shave #2

Razor:
Rockwell 6c Plate 5
Blade: Parker (7)
Brush: Stirling Kong Synthetic
Soap: GTB (6) 3017 started 1/1
AS: Stirling Vanilla Sandalwood

I didn't realized the Parker blade was on shave number 7! I probably could get another shave or 2 out of it, but the last pass did feel a bit tuggy. I also switched up the brush for the first time in a while and went back to the synthetic. After using the Jingle silvertip for a while, I see how different these 2 brushes really are. Both great in their own respects though. Finally, the Vanilla Sandalwood AS was very good! More vanilla than sandalwood at first, but it dries down to a pretty even blend. 2 hours later it's still fairly strong also.

I posted pics of my GTB tub in the 3017 thread, and it would seem that I vastly overestimated the amount left in this already started tub. I suspect I have about another week and a half left before I'm through it.

In Other News....

The Eagles shocked the world and beat the Bears on Sunday! My father in law (a die hard Eagles fan for 60 years) hosted a playoff party on Sunday. There were about 12 of us total. It was a great time, and the house exploded when we won! That blocked/botched field goal was definitely a gift from the football gods!

Tomorrow night I meet with a past real estate client to discuss him potentially getting into flipping houses and buying investment properties. Hopefully this turns into a long and healthy relationship!

Willie World:

Willie is still having his good days and his bad days, but it seems he's having more good ones lately. His biggest problem is now that he really wants to run and blow off some steam, but if he does he pays for it the next day. On nicer days we've been taking him for long walks and that seems to be helping release his pent up energy.

So which brush would you pick if you could only have one?

Well my brush collection is very small. I have 2 low grade pure badgers (they still get the job done quite well though), 1 synthetic, and one Silvertip. I think as of right now the Silvertip is my favorite. I’ve still yet to try a boar or horse hair though.

Shave Time!

Quick double entry

Razor: Rockwell 6c Plate 5
Blade: Astra SP (1&2)
Brush: WWBW Jingle
Soap: GTB (7&8) 3017 started 1/1
AS: Stirling SDM & Christmas Eve

2 good shaves with a new blade in the same set up. I will say that the Parker seems to be a step above the Astra SP for me. I’m not sure if the Parkers are sharper or what but too me I get a slightly better shave.

This is was my first use with the Stirling Christmas Eve scent. Off the bottle it smelled a bit cologne like, but once it was on the face it was instant Christmas tree! Definitely pine and maybe some cinnamon. It’s a strong scent, and 2 hours later it’s still just about as strong, but it’s not in your face strong. I’ll be picking this up for next year’s holiday season for sure.

Ive been really busy lately between the day job and the real estate, so I’m way behind around here. I’m catching up slowly but surely though. Hopefully I’ll be all caught up by tomorrow night.

Willie went to bed already, but he promised to check in tomorrow!

Nice shave Steve! I agree about those Astra SP blades, there are many better blade options IMO.

Stirling aftershaves have nice longevity. Have you tried their EDT? excellent value.
