Steve's Journal: The Saga Continues....

Some pretty good shaves! It looks like the General might be a winner for you with a couple more shaves! And about the Kraken...I LOVE that scent. Sure it's kind of a Barbershop scent...if you at sea! It's a very nice aquatic scent in my opinion and probably is close to a barbershop scent. Hope the time spent with the sister was a good one!

So when I see a scent description that includes “aquatic scent” is this what they’re talking about? If it is, then I need to start looking for some more aquatic scents!!!

Well...sort of...

The Kraken is a little unusual that is does have Barbershop characteristics to the scent. But it also has aquatic characteristics as well. Personally, I think it is more aquatic than barbershop...but if I had to guess, if you ask 10 people that question, I think it would be split half. I don't know if there is specifically an "aquatic" definition for scent or not. I think others around here might have a better definition. I know for me...if you take a light sandalwood scent and add some florals to it like jasmine or lily to it...to me that comes out aquatic smelling.

Shave Time!

Razor:
Diane shavette/Aluminum General
Blade: Personna Hair Shaper/Feather Pro
Brush: WWBW Jingle 2 band badger
Soap: Stirling Agar
AS: Nivea Sensitive Balm

A little late on the entry but here it is! Did my WTG pass with the shavette and then finished up with the Aluminum General. I think I got a little overconfident with the shavette. It bit me a few times and after all was said and done, I had some moderate razor burn. Hence the balm instead of a splash. The General performed as it did previously. Smooth and efficient. All in all I walked away BBS again so I can’t complain.

As for the Stirling Agar, I didn't really get a scent from it. I’m not sure what it should smell like, but to me it just smelled like unscented soap. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Had a nice 2 day visit from my sister. She brought something for me that I’ll be posting about elsewhere. Not shave related so I want to put it in the appropriate place.

She heads back to Atlanta tomorrow, but we’ll be getting together again at the end of next month when we all head to the Outer Banks in NC. We’re all really excited about that!

Willie World:
It’s been hot and raining on and off here. Willie is tired of it. 90+ degrees with high humidity. And the rain. Not ideal walking conditions! He has been taking advantage of air conditioned naps on the couch though, he ain’t dumb.

@cmh737 we went for the first time 2 years ago and it was pretty great. We didn't do much when we were there other than hang at the beach or the pool at the house, but that seemed to be just fine with everyone lol. The house we rented slept 14 and we filled it, so the cost is relatively cheap per person (or family). This year we have 15 people going.

Shave Time!

Razor:
Gillette A-3 Red Tip
Blade: Feather
Brush: TSC 1st Anniversary Sorrentino Cashemere "Nola"
Soap: Catie's Bubbles Terra Verte
AS: Catie's Bubbles Terra Verte

Another great shave with the Red Tip. After yesterday with all the bites and burn, I decided to leave out the shavette. But don't worry, it will make a return tomorrow! Walked away DFS so no complaints here!

My first run with Catie's Bubbles. I was able to quickly whip up a great lather. The scent off the tub was pretty strong, but lost a lot of it's strength once lathered. The scent itself is another one that I can't describe lol. The AS has a nice menthol kick to it, just enough to have a good cool down feeling but not so much that your eyes water. The scent strength on the splash was weaker than the soap however, and faded almost before I left the house for work. It did leave a pretty good post shave face feel though, so it must have some good stuff in it.

Back to work today after a 4 day weekend. I didn't walk into as much B.S. as I thought I would, but there was definitely some to be found lol.

Willie World:
After 4 days of having a couch buddy, Willie wasn't happy that no one would be home with him today!

We can't bring animals to work anymore lol. We actually used to have an office cat and one of our yard guys had to take her home because corporate said we had to get rid of her.

Shave Time!

Razor:
Razorock GC .84P
Blade: Derby Premium
Brush: TSC 1st Anniversary Sorrentino Cashmere "Nola"
Soap: @CBLSoap.com Tobacco and Caramel
AS: Clubman

Great shave today from the Game Changer. I see why everyone says this is a RAD killer! Although, there are still a few vintage razors I'd like to acquire from a collector's perspective. Walked away BBS* today. Just a small spot on the neck that wasn't completely smooth, but definitely DFS+ in that area.

Not much to say about the CBL Tobacco and Caramel. It's a CBL soap. You know it's phenomenal! I didn't really get any of the Caramel at first, but by the second pass I was definitely getting whiffs of it. Good stuff.

Had to drop the step son off last night at his buddy's house because they were getting up pretty early today to work at a soup kitchen with their youth group from church. He's got a good heart this kid.

Willie World:
Not much going on with Willie today. Maybe we'll try for a little longer of a walk tonight, I know I could use the exercise lol.

Nice, GC for the win!

Bravo to the stepson! Foreign missions are good, but it’s also nice to remember and help take care of the local needs too!

Lots of love for the Game Changer. Might be time for a blind buy. Very nice set up and shave.
