Steve's Journal: The Saga Continues....

Can we get a Willie cam for the cadre? One of those where we can talk to him if you're gone?

Shave Time!

Late on my entry as the shave was this morning, but better late than never!

Razor: Rockwell 6c Plate 4
Blade: Ladas Super Stainless (12)
Brush: Stirling Boar
Soap: Proraso Red Cream
AS: Clubman

After seeing Chad use a cream the other day I reached for the Proraso Red and squeezed out a snurdle (thanks for that gem also Chad!) I see a lot of guys match up their Sandalwood soaps and creams with boar brushes, so I pulled that out as well. I haven’t had very good luck with this brush since I got it. In fact I was almost ready to give up on it. Today was a slightly different experience. I got an excellent lather, which was my biggest complaint with the brush. I couldn't build a lather with it to save my life. So that turned around. The other complaint was the shedding. That did not stop today. Since day one this brush has shed 5-7 hairs everytime I’ve used it. Today I picked out 4. So I guess we’ll see how that goes.

The Ladas is still going at 12 shaves although it is clearly on the decline. Hopefully I can sneak a few more shaves in before it really goes down hill. I’d like to try to get 15 or more if I can.

As for the cream and AS combo, this was a surprise win. Not that either are bad on their own, but they really complimented each other. The Proraso has very good staying power so it definitely mingled with the Clubman most of the day. I might do a repeat tomorrow if my WSP shipment doesn’t show up today.

We went out for breakfast food last night for dinner...and we made Anthony drive us! He’s had his permit for a little bit now, but he mostly practices with his dad on the weekends. He did very well though.

Willie World:
Willie was a bad boy this morning...but it was really our fault. He had to go out and we weren’t quick enough, so he took it upon himself to poop in the house. At least he was smart enough to go into the bathroom to do it though...seriously, I’m not making that up.

I don’t know what’s weirder. The fact that Willie goes over to Lucy wanting her to groom him, it that Lucy does it every time without hesitation.

So what you're saying is, the cat is smart enough to be trained, but Willie is having a tough time with you?

Shave TIme!

Lucky 13 on the Ladas today. Still giving good shaves but noticeably not as sharp. I still walked away DFS+/BBS so we'll continue on. The Stirling Boar continues to shed like crazy. 5 hairs collected today. Not sure when this madness will end! Otherwise an good uneventful shave.

As an avid Phillies fan, the free agent market is really starting to stress me out! The Phils are in talks with the 2 biggest free agents and are capable of signing both, but it seems that we'er at a stalemate. Although, most reports indicate that the Phillies have the best offer in to Bryce Harper, and that Manny Machado hasn't received anything close to what he's asking for from any other team. They need to just get them both here! Otherwise, this offseason has still been a good one for us with a lot of improvement being made.

Willie World:

With temps in the 60's Willie is a happy boy!
