Still rocking the OG Ladas blade. The sharpness has fallen off, as mentioned in previous posts, but it's still getting me an irritation free and close shave. Not time to bin this one yet!
The Wild West Brushworks 2 Band Badger continues to get better and better. I like it so much that I'm thinking about picking up another one in a different color scheme at some point.
The soap from Saturday, RR Mudder Focker, is one of my favorites. It's also starting to show signs of a donut hole, so I'll probably have to restock that one soon. This is one of the first soaps I used when I switched from canned goo, and it's definitely got a permanent spot in my den.
Sunday's soap is giving me a hard time. The Oz Shaving Co soaps that I have all are great scent wise, and the others all lather effortlessly to a top tier lather. Tik Tok just seems to elude me though. I think I've used the soap about 5 or 6 times, and every time I've either struggled to get a good lather or just flat out didn't get one. Today was no different. My first pass was thick, but very dry and with no slickness. The lather before the second pass was so thin that I had to hit the tub again and reload. After reloading and adding a decent amount of water I was able to get a decent lather out of it. I'm curious if it's one of the scent ingredients making this soap behave differently because the other 2 soaps I have from Oz don't behave like this at all.
You may have also noticed that I have 2 razors and blades listed for today's shave. I went with a WTG pass with the Diane Barber Straight today and was brave enough to even go WTG on the neck. The only problem was the lack of slickness from the later. I managed to do a decent job and didn't get any nicks or weepers, but had the lather been better I would have probably attempted (or at least thought about) an XTG pass. Either way I felt much more comfortable than the first attempt, and even did a few strokes left handed. I know, crazy right?!?
All in all both shaves were good. Little to no irritation, DFS+ yesterday and BBS today.
In Other News...
They're calling for more snow and sleet today, although it hasn't started yet. Another big weather change around here. It was in the 60's during the week, what happened!?! Otherwise not much going on. I took the investor to look at another potential flip candidate yesterday, but between the probable purchase price and the cost to rehab he would probably only break even on it. So the search continues. This is the frustrating part of being a real estate agent. The work you don't get paid for....
Willie World:
Willie is just as upset about this weather as I am. How is he supposed to go out in this nonsense? He's been taking out his frustrations on our pillows every chance he gets. We're going to need some new throw pillows for the couch soon!
