Steve's Journal: The Saga Continues....

I have not had any issues with Tik Tok. Not sure why it would behave any differently than the others.

Nice stuff Steve. The Ladas is really getting stretched. On the work front I guess it's the dues that get paid early before the payoff down the road. Takes time to build a real estate business for sure. Hang in there

Thanks Dave. It definitely takes time. They say on average it can take about 3 years to build a steady business. And 95% of new agents quit after the first year.

BBS for the win! Hang in there on the real estate front. It will payoff.

You should shovel Wiilie a path.

Shave Time!

Razor: Rockwell 6c Plate 4
Blade: Ladas Super Stainless (16)
Brush: WWBW Jingle 2 Band Badger
Soap: WSP Barbershop
AS: WSP Barbershop

Shave number 16 on the Ladas is in the books. Still comfortable, so I'll keep rocking it! After yesterday's BBS shave I was still DFS+ this morning and didn't really need to shave, but I still wanted to haha! So I went with a quick 2 pass. Walked away BBS again and about 5 hours later I'm DFS+. I'll call that a win! Hopefully today my WSP order shows up and I get another win lol.

I got an unexpected text last night from someone I hadn't talked to in a long time. My best friend in high school. We had a falling out a few years ago, over what exactly neither of us can even remember. Anyway, he was at a concert last night in Philly and was able to meet some of the members of the bands. 2 of which we are both huge fans of. He texted me some pics he was able to get with the guys and said he knew I would appreciate it more than anyone. We got to talking and we're going to try to get together to jam and have a couple of beers. We were very close so it's been weird not having him around. I'm really glad he reached out.

Willie World:

The cold weather is back and Willie isn't happy. He needs a winter home in Florida....

Very cool about the reconnection.

Willie said a couple of hand warmers in his bed would be nice.

Thanks guys! Hand warmers in Willie’s bed sounds like a trip to the emergency vet after about 10 minutes haha. Can’t trust Willie with anything!

Shave Time!

Soap: Stirling Spice

The Ladas is starting to show its age. Went for a 4 pass shave this morning for fun, and the result is a BBS-. Can’t complain, but I feel that the blade wasn’t quite getting it done as well as it should. I need more strokes and cleanup than the previous few shaves.

I was also left with a bit of irritation on the neck, not much but enough to be annoying. That could have been from a weak lather on the last pass. I probably didn’t load enough soap and the lather was a bit thin at the end. All in all a good shave though.

No other updates otherwise. Off to work in a minute. Hope everyone has a great day!

Nice catching up. Your story about the long lost friend has me wanting to reach out to a couple friends of mine. Think I will do just that.

I would do it Chad. In my case, we were like brothers at one point. And over time we started to drift apart little by little. Then we got into an argument over something so small neither one of us knows exactly what it was. We both realized that life is just too short. We had so many great times together and one small disagreement wasn’t worth not being friends.

Soap: WSP Blackbeard (Formula T)
AS: WSP Blackbeard (Mentholated)

I love me some Blackbeard! Hard to describe, but definitely spicy. I don't think it's close to most Bay Rum's (and WSP has their own Bay Rum), but it's what I want a Bay Rum to be lol. I probably only make the Bay Rum association because of the Blackbeard name, but there are some similar scent notes in there. The soap performs as expected. A high Tier 1 for me. The AS was also a satisfying performer. The menthol level is pretty high, but not as high as the Stirling Wintergreen aloe and witch hazel. The scent didn't really appear until after the menthol calmed down a bit, so about 10 minutes or so. But as I type this almost 10 hours after my morning shave, I'm still getting satisfying hints of the scent. I son't really know why this is a limited scent. It's so good.

As for the Ladas blade, I think I can stretch it to Friday for an even 20 shaves, but it has definitley lost most of its sharpness. I caught myself applying pressure to compensate today, although I walked away without any irritation thankfully. I think the irritation yesterday was from lather issues, not the blade.

Bryce Harper still hasn't signed with anyone. We got 4 inches of snow which is turning to sleet and rain. I have a dentist appointment tomorrow...is it Friday yet?

Willie World:
Since we were getting snow today, Anthony's school was closed. So Willie was happy that he had someone to snuggle with on the couch instead of snoozing in his crate all day!
