Steve's Journal: The Saga Continues....

Got caught up on your journal Steve. There seems to be a lot going on. Sorry to hear about your wife. This year's cold and flu season is no joke. I have had the cold twice in the last few months and my wife has had it three times. A lot of my friends and family have come down with colds also this year. Thankfully, no one close to me has had the flu...so there is that...but like I said...this season is no joke!

Get that heart checked out! Well it sounds like you are. Of all the organs in our body, the heart is one of the most fixable if issues are found out early enough. My doc wants me to go see a cardiologist also. Not necessarily that I have issues or anything...but mostly because it is just that time. I have kind of put it off for a while because of work and the holidays and other commitments. But you sir are acting as a reminder for me that I need to schedule it.

Praying the heart doc says you are okay!

Thanks Don! The wife seems to be on the mend, although I started with a cough yesterday...thanks Erica ?

Defintely staying on top of the heart thing, especially considering the family history. Glad I could be a reminder for you!

Here’s hoping the worst is over for this winter and cold/flu season. Once you’re both healthy it should be easier.

Thanks Rich! Hopefully we can both kick whatever this is soon, and hopefully Anthony doesn’t get it. Nobody wants to hear a sick 16 year old whine all day...???

Shave Time!

2 shaves, 1 entry...

Saturday:

Razor: Rockwell 6c Plate 4
Blade: Ladas Super Stainless (1)
Brush: Stirling Boar
Soap: Oz Shaving Co. Tik Tok
AS: Oz Shaving Co. Tik Tok

First shave on the One Blade Challenge. I chose the Ladas Super Stainless to push to the max this month. I only have 2 of these, so we'll see if they last the entire month. I have a feeling I'll get through just fine. I've used this blade previously in my Tech II and really liked it, I got the same result with the Rockwell, but may have gotten a bit of a closer shave.

The Oz Shaving Co. Tik Tok continues to baffle me. One shave I get a great lather, the next it seems to be the hardest thing to do. The brush could have been part of the problem. So far I'm not really enjoying the boar brush all that much. It doesn't seem to load quite as well. It could be that it's not broken it at all yet, so I'll continue to use it on and off and see if my opinion changes. Can't complain for $10 though right?

Sunday:

Razor: Rockwell 6c Plate 4
Blade: Ladas Super Stainless(2)
Brush: WWBW Jingle 2 Band Badger
Soap: Oz Shaving Co. Wicked
As: Oz Shaving Co. Wicked

For shave number 2 of the One Blade To Rule Them All, But Just For This Month Challenge I decided to do a 4 pass shave. I haven't done one of these in a while, and lately I've even stepped things down to 2 pass shaves because I've gotten better results irritation wise. But off I went, really paying attention to technique and growth direction. No issues, but I have to say for the time it took to complete the shave, it wasn't really that much closer than a 2 pass shave for me. I'm still not 100% BBS. I did manage to get a way without any irritation or blood loss so it was ok, but not something worth doing repeatedly. At least not for me. Back to the 2 passer tomorrow!

In Other News....

I'm starting to really feel like I'm over whatever cold I was beginning to get. Erica still feels like she's in the middle of whatever she has, so it must be something different. Either that or my immune system is way better than hers ???. Getting ready to sit around and be a bum for the big game today. Hope the Rams win because, anyone but the Patriots! I might do a bit of my continued education that's due in April for my real estate license before the game starts. We'll see.

Tomorrow at the day job we have a new hire starting. She is supposed to eventually learn to do what I do with the vehicle titles and help me when I have time off and when volume picks up. We'll see how that goes. She knows the guy that owns the tow company we're contracted with that brings all of our vehicles in, and he says she'll fit right in with our group.

Willie World:

William has been doing good, but for some reason he keeps waking up multiple times through the night but we can't figure out what he wants. He doesn't do anything when we take him out, he'll always eat but he doesn't seem to be starving for food, he doesn't attempt to get a drink of water. We have no idea what the deal is. Otherwise throughout the day he seems fine. He's a weirdo sometimes.

This is pretty standard for people new to social media. He doesn't want to wait to long to hear what people are saying about him.

Our dogs are up and about constantly throughout the night. It can get pretty annoying sometimes. My wife is particularly sensitive to the ticking of their claws on the hard wood and tile.

All caught up keeper of the 3 names. The Ladas blade I remember as being a good blade. I'm looking forward to when that gets called up for the bad blade challenge.

Shave Time!

Razor: Rockwell 6c Plate 4
Blade: Ladas Super Stainless (3)
Brush: WWBW Jingle 2 Band Badger
Soap: Oz Shaving Co. Wicked

Same setup as yesterday, but went with the normal 2 pass shave. I retract my statement yesterday that there is not enough of a difference between the 4 pass and 2 pass shave for me. The immediate closeness is about the same, but the shave lasts way longer on the 4 pass. I probably could have skipped a shave today if I wanted to. Of course I didn't though! I don't think the 4 pass is something that needs to be done on a daily basis, and for me my face probably couldn't take it everyday, but it's definitely something to do occasionally.

The Ladas is on its 3rd shave and I haven't noticed any difference yet. I don't think that I'll notice much difference for the next few shaves.

In Other News...
Not much going on. The new hire started today but was doing most of her onboarding training, AKA watching videos all day. She seems like she'll fit in though.

Willie World:
Little man is getting a little wobbly again, but I think its just from him playing a little too hard the last few days. He seems fine otherwise. In fact right now he's showing a pillow that he's in charge around here...

Shave Time!

Razor: Rockwell 6c Plate 4
Blade: Ladas Super Stainless (4)
Brush: WWBW Jingle 2 Band Badger
Soap: AA Bay Rum
AS: AA Bay Rum

Changing up the routine yet again, I went with a 3 pass shave this morning. Not really necessary, but I came out unscathed with just a touch of irritation on the neck. I also noticed after I got to work that I missed a spot on my neck lol, but not a big deal. The Ladas is still going strong with no noticeable difference.

Short entry today as I'm swamped at work. I'll be checking in periodically throughout the day though...

I can relate to the "swamped at work" part!
