Shave Time!
Saturday
Razor: Rockwell 6c
Blade: Voskhod
Brush: WWBW Jingle 2 Band Badger
Soap: Razorock Blue Fougere
AS: Razorock Blue Fougere
Forgot to log this one yesterday. Unfortunately my awesome mail call showed up after my morning shave, so I just grabbed some Blue Fougere and hit the sink. All in all a great shave. Just shy of 100% BBS. I'm getting close to that though.
Sunday
Razor: Assured TTO
Blade: Assured
Brush: WWBW Jingle 2 Band Badger
Soap: CBL Dragon's Blood/CF Sherlock/WSP Mahogany
AS: Stirling Almond Creme
Well today I tackled 2 challenges in one shave. Well I tackled one and started the other. So I got my first shave in with the Assured $1 razor and did my 3 Soaps, 1 Bowl challenge. I also recorded my first video! I'll be putting that over in the video section momentarily.
We'll start with the soaps. The challenge is a pretty cool idea, if you have the right combo of scents you can probably create something really good. In my case, the CBL Dragon's Blood really overpowered everything else. Upon initial brush loading, there was a nice mix of the 3 scents that didn't really smell like any of them individually. Once I got into actually lathering, the CBL just took over, with the Sherlock appearing in the background, and the Mahogany being non-existent. The consistency and performance of the soap was excellent. Lathered up very easily and was nice and slick. And just so everyone knows, I called out Milkcrate, Blademeister, and ShaveWizard to go next. So Tim, Mike, and Brad...you're up!
On to the razor. These things are really hit or miss in the QC arena, but I think I lucked out this time. The shave went better than expected, but it wasn't as good as I've been getting on a daily basis. Ultimately I walked away DFS with no blood loss and no irritation. In the video it almost looks like I didn't actually shave, but I assure you there was a blade in the razor (see what I did there). Maybe it was a combination of the camera placement and lighting in the bathroom.
In Other News....
My wife's work holiday party was pretty nice. I didn't get to clink any wine boxes, but I did find a wine that I like. I think it was called Chambourcin. It was a red, that's really all I know about it haha.
Willie World:
I wanted to get Willie to make an appearance in the video today, but he was too busy napping. He's got the life!
