Steve's Journal: The Saga Continues....

You mean the refs were paid to yank the game for the Saints.

It was incredible. Watching with my father-in-law was very special. He’s been an Eagles fan for over 60 years. And just before the playoffs he had a brain tumor removed, and a tumor removed from his colon. We watched every playoff game knowing it could be last football game he watched. We celebrated with a glass of 18 year old scotch after every win. When they won the Super Bowl, he got a little teary eyed. When he asked my wife and I to watch the parade with him instead of actually going, we couldn’t say no (he also had free beer and an accessible bathroom, so that made the decision easier lol).

Even though this year didn’t go quite as well, I’m very happy to say that my father-in-law was still watching with us and with a clean bill of health.

Sounds like good memories

Dang, watching the last quarter and OT of the Pats game was the most football I’ve seen this season. Pretty exciting stuff!

Great memories you can cherish! You are a good man for finding the time to be with him!

Very nice job layering the scents, Steve. Fine L'Orange Noir is one of my favorite aftershaves.

Well that was quite the catch up. Good stuff. Glad Willie is doing better overall. And I have enjoyed not watching any NFL this season. And to be honest I don't miss it.

Yeah Willie is really just trying to stay warm right now. This morning it was 9 degrees on the way to work!

As as far as the NFL, I really only watch the Eagles games. I do 2 fantasy leagues for fun, but I didn’t really get in to football until a few years ago. After being involved in Don’s College Football extravaganza, I actually started paying attention to some of the college games. Much more entertaining than the NFL. I’ve always been more of a baseball guy anyway.

College Sports is where it is at in my opinion. Such variations of degrees of athleticism. Plus it seems like the players are really playing for something! Pro Sports for the most part get boring to me. Most of the athletes are at such an elite level the game looks slow to me. I know that isn't really the case...but it seems that way. Also, I really feel that many of the pros really kind of just phone it in. MLB less so...NBA is the epitome...and NFL kind of falls in the middle. Not sure how I feel about NHL.

I agree 100% with the phoning it in aspect. I feel it’s present in every professional sport.

Shave Time!

Razor: G-2 Fatboy
Blade: Voskhod (1)
Brush: WWBW Jingle 2 Band Badger
Soap: Oz Shaving Wicked
AS: Oz Shaving Company

Took the Fatboy out for a spin after my initial tweak of the bent safety bar last night. All I can say is, what a shave! The 2 sides were still a bit uneven, with the bent side still being a tad more aggressive, but still very good. Went on setting 4 and pulled out a 90%* BBS with the rest being a solid DFS+. Also just a bit of irritation on the neck, but I believe that was from me trying to touch up a little too much.

As usual the Oz Shaving Co. soap delivered. The absinthe and leather scent of wicked is such an absolute winner for me. To me, the scent is so very unique. My only complaint is the splash doesn’t last longer.

After the shave I went back and tweaked the saftey bar on the Fatboy again, and I’m thinking about a morning shave tomorrow to see how it worked out. We’ll see...

In Other News....
Still trying to help my investor client find his first project. He’s really trying to do his homework and cover all his bases, so he hasn’t put in an offer on anything yet, but I think that’s ok. He really wants this to work out, so he doesn’t want the first project to be a flop. I totally agree with him. He’ll find something soon enough.

Willie World:

Since it was so cold today, and Willie can’t have any blankets in his crate when we leave him alone because he eats them. So that meant he got to go to work with Mom today. She’s a vet tech, so he just goes and hangs out in the run in the back and gets treats all day. Since there’s always someone around to check on him, he gets to have some blankets to snuggle up in and stay warm. It’s supposed to be in the single digits again tomorrow, so he’ll probably go with again. Gotta keep Willie man comfortable!

*overestimation, this is probably really 80%.
