Shave Time!
Razor: Razorock Tech II
Blade: Parker
Brush: WWBW Jingle
Soap: Oz Shaving Tik Tok
AS:. Oz Shaving Tik Tok
Not sure what, but something stinks...
Tried out another Christmas gift tonight. The Oz Shaving Tik Tok soap/AS. I had a real hard time getting a lather tonight. I’m not sure if I’m not used to this brush, or if it’s a mix of other things I changed. I shook out the brush pretty good because last night I felt like it was holding a lot water. I also didn’t bloom the soap because it’s pretty soft without any water added. I loaded the brush for about 40 seconds and just couldn’t get anything to build up. Then after the second pass it looked like there was nothing left on the brush. I had To go back to the tub between all 3 passes. Ultimately even though the lather was really poor, I still had enough slickness to walk away DFS. A little irritation on the neck, but nothing too bad.
On to the stink...I’m thinking that for whatever reason, I didn’t smell it last night with the first use of the brush. It smells almost like burnt hair, but not quite as bad. I don’t think it’s the soap because off the tub and out of the AS bottle this smell is nonexistent. The nature of this soap scent might be making the brush scent worse, or almost meshing with it. But I’m not sure where it’s coming from. So tomorrow I’ll use a different brush and try the soap again. See what happens. Hopefully it’s just that the brush needs to be broken in more. I did wash it with a quality dog shampoo, as was recommended by a friend, after tonight’s shave.
In Other News...
Anthony bought Red Dead Redemtion 2 last night, and will be going to stay with his grandparents for a few days. Needless to say I’ll be getting some video game time in! I also picked up a Nintendo Switch tonight that I got when I purchased My wife’s gift this year. I was keeping it at my parents’ house until after Christmas. I have no idea what this thing is really, but I guess I’ll find out!
Willie World:
After a lot of excitement yesterday, my wife and I host Christmas for both of our families, Willie was pretty stiff and not walking too well. About halfway through the day he was relegated to being held or laying in his crate. Today he was like a new dog though, so he must’ve just overdone it a bit. He’ll be resting more than he would like the next few days, but I’m sure he’ll be thanking us when he feels better!
