Shave Time!
Quick entry tonight as it’s very late and I’m exhausted lol.
Razor: Stirling DE3P6
Blade: Parker
Brush: Stirling Kong Synthetic
Soap: Oz Shaving Co. Wicked
AS: Oz Shaving Co. Wicked
Well tonight’s shave was good and bad. I am Solidly BBS everywhere above the jaw and about 80% below the jaw. However, I have a lot of irritation to go with it on the neck. I think It can mainly be attributed to being tired and not concentrating enough on angle and pressure. I’m confident most of it will disappear by the morning though, as no blood was shed. It is still quite annoying lol.
As for the Oz soap and AS.....The soap was indeed sharp, as described on the company’s website, upon first sniff. Once bloomed, it was even sharper. Very jarring, but in a good way if that makes sense. Once I built up a nice creamy lather (which was effortless) the scent mellowed in sharpness and became a bit more complex. Very pleasing. The best I can describe is a clean scent, with the leather being the base and the absinthe giving it its zest. Definitely a keeper for me! The AS is even better! I think The absinthe to leather ratio is a bit more even and this makes it seem much more complex. The soap definitely has more leather scent to it. I really like both. As for performance, it lathered quickly, was very slick and left a great residual slickness. My only complaint was that my lather on the third pass was a bit thin. This also could’ve contributed to my irritation. But I think it was my fault from not loading the brush enough initially.
In Other News....
After getting the hot water heater situation last night, I didn't get to bed until about midnight. But it’s fixed....for now lol. Replaced both thermostats and one element. Good to go.
Tonight we went out to a farm in PA just north of Philly. They do a giant Christmas light display that you drive through, and have a little Christmas village. Really cool. We picked a few things in the village that I’ll post in the holiday decor thread.
Willie Update:
He’s doing really well. Becoming more stable when walking and not as wobbly. But he’s getting braver in his jumping and running, which isn’t good. He’s getting harder and harder to keep calm, but he’s a dog. He wants to play. He still has another few weeks of restrictions before he can start running around like a mad man!
