When it comes to using a straight, whatever works best for you .... works best for you. Keep plugging away at the ambi-approach for at least a few months worth of straight shaves (i.e. ~100 shaves ... not 5 shaves in 2 months )

That's my thought as well. If it works, it works. I'm not completely giving up on the 2 hand approach just yet, and you're right, 14 shaves does not make me a straight shave master

That is what straight shaving is.. A constant purgatory awaiting the bloodletting it is not a matter of if, even after years of doing it , it is a matter of When, and how big the mayhem will be. Kinda like riding on a roller coaster for years and years, but yet not one can seem to find whom the inspector who signed off on it was

I seem to be prone to weepers even when using a DE, so a little bit of bloodletting is par for the course. My main goal is to keep myself out of the emergency room!

SR Shave #15

Another successful 3 pass SR shave. I went back in between each pass and added a little water to my lather and that seemed to really help a lot. I’m still trying to figure out the best approach to certain areas when going S-N but otherwise things seem to be progressing. The alum was pretty spicy during cleanup, but it’s probably due to still dialing in the right angle, along with the fact that I’m also doing a 4th pass with the DE along with clean up in certain areas. No big deal though, I came away DFS+ today!

In Other News...
I took down all of the indoor Christmas decorations today and got them put away in the attic. The cats were sad to see the tree go .

Our cats don't know what Christmas trees are. While it would be fun to guard the tree with a squirt gun, we've chosen to avoid the hassle altogether.

Our cats don't know what Christmas trees are. While it would be fun to guard the tree with a squirt gun, we've chosen to avoid the hassle altogether.

Lucy will occasionally climb in the tree but stays on the bottom branches. For the most part, her and Ozzy just like to sleep underneath of it.

This is the longest we’ve left the indoor decorations up. Usually it’s the lights outside that stay up. It’s not fun taking that stuff down when it’s 40 degrees out!

Don’t tell anyone, I forgot the garland over the fireplace and it’s still there. I think it looks kinda nice.
